Read like a bit of nah nah you can't catch me. Really Hardwick, the point of the Challenge is to get rid of you. All the polls point to the majority of supporters not wanting you, get the message and **** off.

Actually only the minority of members would have participated in the polls. I would not be surprised if the majority feel that letting hardwick coach next year is the smart choice

If they have enough support to call an EGM then Hardwick is surely dead in the water. The Rollercoaster people will cause a full spill of the board if he isn't sacked and no one at board level will want that to happen surely.

I was left mouth open in astonishment after the presser.

"Our forward line was missing players like Riewoldt vs GWS" ....he played, you probably tried to forgot as he kicked a few against team orders.
"Injuries injuries injuries" You have been blaming them all ******* year.
"We're looking to try a few different ways to move the ball over the last few weeks" Seriously, wtf could we possibly learn in such a short time, not to mention with everyone in different positions?
"Houli played forward" You mean the guy you have been blaming for our poor ball movement off half back all year is now back and being tried forward?

Seriously, the only plausible reason for this dribble is tanking.
Well we did miss kingy, Jackson and foley earlier, so without Jack in the forward line what do you expect

full of shit as usual

All polls are taken on the percentage of votes taken to represent the group. You think that News Poll for Elections are done by every voter. As it stands the majority percentage of Members represented in the polls want Hardwick gone. Do you think the push to out the current board is on the back of only a small number of Members voting on some internet polls?

Three Richmond fan sites and on one of those sites three different polls all similar Hardwick out percentages, I would suggest that there may be a margin of error like all polls but the vocal majority want him out, couple thus with our stellar attendances would suggest that those polls are close to the mark

Agree, it will no doubt change percentage if all Members had a vote. However as you said three independent polls give a decent insight as to the feelings on the matter.

The Galaxy polls don't poll every voter yet they are reasonably accurate

You could run another poll the entire bf Richmond board would probably vote right about now

On what grounds? I am keen to hear your argument if you sit in that camp as well.
Three finals appearance.? smart recruiting? exciting game plan.? I just don't see what he can do next year that he couldn't do in the last 7.

I'll i sit in that camp, what camp?

I have consistently posted that Hardwick should be replaced IF we have a better proven coach lined up

I just donr rubbish and ignore the good achieved in the last 7 years because i want him replaced.

As to my premise about polls. I just believe posters on footy forums are a minority of the rank of file members, so it makes polls irrelevant.

That is just my view

Camp that feels hardwick should be given time till next year. Everyone is entitled to their views, right or wrong only time will tell.
I personally don't rubbish what he's achieved as a coach but it is obvious we've stagnated or even gone backwards last few years. No excuse for that.
Like any job, if you don't perform you perish. 2016 was a farce from round 1 but he continued to fill supporters with false hope that things will turn around.

I agree BF posters are minority and may not have any effect on the club but the truth is they are vocal and express their opinion with emotions that form the heart & soul of any club. Majority members don't speak at all and they probably don't care who coaches next year...!

I THINK the point some are trying to make (not downplaying the importance of good assistants as they are) is never in the history of the game has such focus gone on 'under-performing' assistants. The buck always has and always will stops with the coach.
I could be wrong, but when McCartney was sent packing from the Bulldogs, there was not talk of widespread assistant changes or blokes under-performing. John Barker, who was an assistant under Malthouse and took over before Bolton's appointment is still at the Blues and no one talks down his input. an exodus of assistants wasn't apparent when Scott Watters bit the bullet at St Kilda. Don Pyke is operating with many of the same assistants at Adelaide that were there when Walsh and Sanderson were there.
So why does Hardwick seemingly get absolved from all blame and assistants must bear the wrath for a pear-shaped season? It's pure hypocriosy.
Taking it to another level, we had Watson - Hardwick's mate - o SEN the other day criticising the Bulldogs for extending Beveridge's contract, yet openly petitioned for a guy with zero finals wins to get a contract extension at the end of 2015 and continues to say he should be allowed to coach until the end of 2019.
Hardwick has a lot of Essendon mates in the media who keep pumping his tyres. Finally one, Lloydy said on Monday night 'enough is enough' he's got to go.
But no, it's the assistants who have to go.
I can understand both sides of the argument. Even though I don't mind if Hardwick stays, I'd rather the club look at someone else to be honest because 7 years is a long time to have not won a final.

What people don't realise is that we seem to have stagnated at every level. Richmond finished 15th in 2009 and 2010, 12th in 2011 and 2012 and 7th, 8th and 7th in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Now, I know that Hardwick wasn't in charge in 2009, but if Bolton can get Carlton from the bottom to where they are now, then surely Hardwick could have at least got them above 15th in one season?

Anyways, the first season that alarm bells should have been ringing is 2012. It was the year that our list was, in my opinion, at its best and many players were having great seasons. Carlton in Round 1 was our highest losing margin of 44 and the rest were 22 (Fremantle) or lower. Signs of not being a strong matchday coach and some of our players being mentally weak showed as early as then.

We have already spent 7 years with him as head coach and the club has re-signed him until the end of 2018, so I guess that seeing how he'll perform next year with different assistants isn't too bad. Like I mentioned before, the coaches other than the head coach do partake in discussions and decision-making. It is probably Hardwick's last straw though.

I thought it was a good presser.
Dimma said "it's all external noise" a lot.
I'm very reassured!
