My older son wants to know something.

Suppose you sponsor a child through World Vision or give a lot to charity in general.

During a date with a female should you bring this up? Will she like you more because you're generous? Will she think you're unattractive because you have less to provide for her?

Does philanthropy attract women or not?

Depends who, obviously. But I imagine if you brought it up without the conversation leading to it she'd think you're only doing it to make yourself look good

how did i know this thread would be started by you nokia?

Most girls will see through a charity dropper in conversation and yes this is a turn off.

I started regularly donating to a charity in 2001 and two years later I had a girlfriend. It may just be coincidence, but...

I started regularly donating my money to pubs and casinos in 1995 and 13 years later I am back on the single scene....It may just be a coincidence, but...

Not as bad a question as your other one nokia but geez. Here's my 1st piece of advice for you.
Being overly "charitable" or in other words, being too generous with money to impress people could work to a certain extent but means that there will also be leaches who could take advantage of him, that are only there for the money he so generously shouts on his friends. Fair dink pal, here's another simple piece of advice for you, teach him to be a good person by teaching him MORALS.
Having said all this, I am not a parental counsellor. My next advice would be to go and see one instead of asking us.
