They park illegally so I dont see a problem with it. Park how your meant to and it doesnt happen, once again like the speeding people it is quite simple and basic stuff to understand! But some people cant manage to understand it!
i think the issues raised in this thread may be a little beyond the scope of your comprehension. Speeding is not a criminal act and as many have said on this thread, a lot of the time is unintentional. Parking with a wheel outside the alloted line gives you no justifacation whatsoever to go vandalising their car. You may get all uptight over it, but did you consider the fact that many people have to because a) the person next to them was also out of their spot. b) there was a trolley left there and they had to park wider to avoid it, and they are returning the trolley. c) they had a stroller to unload. d) they had an obstructed view whilst reversing into the spot. No reason for you to go taking the law into your own hands, and the irony of it is, you are the one that will be pinged by the good honest citizen who is witness to you slamming your door against the car next to you.

And i've also noticed that speed limits are coming down everywhere, they never go up. Just recently the 70 and 80 zones around have gone to 60 and 70.
And particularly the 50 zones are hard to get used to; especially at night when there's no-one else on the road. 50km/h on side streets is fine, but I hate it on busier roads. Particularly the steep downhill stretch between North Rocks and Baulkham Hills - sooner or later the cops will get their radar guns there, and they'll fine every car on the road.

.

I haven't read everyones post, so appologise if some of what I say has been covered.

First of all, I can't believe that they don't bring back the 10% leaway, as experts have come out and said that no car is 100% accurate on he speedo, and if your tyres are a little flat, your speed could be out by the reading. Government don't give a ***** about what the experts say, they have maintained the 3km over in any area. So 103 is speeding.

Fines are all wrong, who do you think gets hurt more by a fine? A doctor or a young kid trying to find a job. They both get $120 fine or thereabouts. Shouldn't it be a percentage of what you earn, because I am sure the Doctor doesn't care two hoots about $120, but a you kid would think it was the end of the world.

In Sweden their freeways are open speed limit, and they have a smaller road toll than we do per head of population on the freeways.

50 kilometer speed limit is ridiculous, if a driver is always looking down at the speedo to make sure they aren't speeding, aren't they more dangerous to a kid running out to get their ball than someone who is doing 60. I speed regularly in the 50 zones, in the back streets, but I look widely into the fronts of houses, and am wary of parked cars, and what could run out from in front of them. Some people wait until the kid is on the road before seeing them. Hence the reason for the limit, all the people who hit kids that don't look far enough ahead, and judge movements. The same people will be so concerned about the speedo to see the same kid.

yes I do flash

.

Eastaugh you idiot, you say do the speed limit, because that is the law, yet you open your door, and cause criminal damage on someones car. Which sid eof the law do you want to be on. And if you say that road safety is important, and criminal damage isn't high on your priority's, what would happen to the person that had to stop suddenly in front of you, when you were trying to show the passing driver that your finger was up to your head to show them they are stupid. And don't give me the bull***** that you still watch the road.

Two more things, 1 for dopey Eastaugh, In the case I go into a park, and someone is across the line, I am forced to park beside them, and if I park real close to them, they will come out and may damage my car getting into theres. So I park a little bit away, getting close to the other car. Both cars either side leave, and another car comes in, thinking that it was me that parked crooked, and because this idiot is you, you open your door into my car, then I come out and see you doing it, and you spend your afternnoon trying to pick up your teeth with broken fingers.

As for flashing being against the law, and obstructing the course of justice, and that crap, what is it when radio announces the roads that the cameras are on, isn't that obstructing the course of justice???

I thought they had close to 0 road toll, and from memory, they don't have any speed limits whatsoever. I saw a documentary how on their highways, they have netting as opposed to steel barriers and rock dividing the highway. However you can get pinged for negligent or dangerous driving, so if you are caught doing 90k's in a dense residential zone in the afternoon, you will get booked, because that is negligent. You will also get fined if you drive carelessly near a pub where people might walk out on the road. You will not get fined if you go 180km/h in the middle of the night on an 8 lane motorway.

I know Germany has the speed limits in the cities, but not on the highways, and surrounding countries have variable speed limits depending on the time of day / traffic conditions. We have 60 zones be it peakhour or not a single car on the road.

Maybe I exaggerated a little about saying I would hit a car with the door, but it annoys me sometimes.
More importantly, it annoys me when morons go past and are clearly speeding. I am talking about the morons who go 10km or more over the limit. They are that dumb that they cant even comprehend what a speed limit sign means.

.

Taken well Eastaugh, I don't like to see people speeding excessively either, but a little over, if your switched on, is less dangerous than 10 under to someone who isn't. It seems I may have been a little harsh Eastaugh. By your response I may of misread your tone, sorry bloke.

It's apparent that most concepts are beyond eastys comprehension. He's a very dull little boy.

You have an unhealthy obsession 'donker boy'. You suffer small man's syndrome(which is believable when seeing you!), you have to come on to the internet to put people down. I have noticed in other threads that you dont handle things so well when others gang up on you, you little git. You are laughable.

confused? clearly.

A great case of selective quoting there. I said I hate it when morons go speeding past, as in 10km or more over the limit. There is a difference between that and someone going past at up to 5 km over the limit.

way to hedge your bets, having a bit each way, like the scenario where you said you'd bash someones car if they dont park properly and then retreated from this stance. It's one thing to stand by your convictions, but pretending not to get all uptight when people go past you at 5km/h over, especially after admitting that you put your finger to your head and gesture at them

If someone goes past at 10km or more over the limit then they deserve to get the finger at the head, in fact they deserve much more, a smack in the mouth. :D

Should cars with abs braking have the same speed limits as those without?

Should the same sped limit apply to wet and dry roads?

Should a young person with a fast reaction time be subject to the same speed limits as an 80 year old with a slow reaction time?

Is a speed limit not an unreasonable constanant when the safet aspect of speed is dependant upon a considerable number of variables?

Would it not be better that police patrol streets and identify those that are driving dangerously rather than standing behind a gun, revenue raising?
