Well I do. Frankly, trying to find anyone who can hold an intelligent conversation is nigh-on impossible, and it seems everyone is happy just doing the mundane, boring things like going to work, going home, going to work, going home, blah blah blah.

And then, when you DO meet someone intelligent, they are usually incredibly arrogant and about as much fun as a wet fish.

So if anyone knows how I can have my intelligence reduced so I can rejoice in mediocrity, please post your suggestions.

Yours sincerely,
Sbagman.

Find new friends.

There's lots of perfectly good people out there who don't know the answer to that one.

We could sent the boys around with a baseball bat.

Less pain would be good. You know, listening to pop music, watching channel Seven...

Actually, on second thought, just send the boys around.

Ever seen 'A Clockwork Orange'? We could sit you in one of those chairs with your eyes wired open and force you to watch a constant stream of 'The Bachelor', 'Australian Idol', 'Neighbours', 'Home and Away', 'Blue Heelers', 'Survivor', anything beginning with 'Worlds Worst...', 'TV's Funniest...' or 'The Best of...' and 'Australias Funniest Home Videos'. Even if it didn't reduce your intelligence (which I doubt), at least you'd have something to talk to the idiots about.

Hey hey hey, let's not get ridiculous...

Sounds like a person who's just returned from travelling.

One of the lesser side effects, seeing & experiencing so much, feeling more enlightened on life means you also start to think that what others call a 'normal' life you think is mundane, boring, and an incredible waste of valuable time - you only live once after all.

What's the best way to spend your time alive? Make money? Yeah and blow a lot of time doing it.

Humans spend 5 days doing what they don't want to do so that they can do what they want to do for 2 days. Then we spend 48 weeks doing what we don't want to do, so that we can do what we really want to do for 4 weeks. Then we spend 30-40years doing what we loath doing so we can do what we really wanna do for 15-20years. And that's if you live a long life.

Where's the logic?

I suggest you drink a lot and plan your next trip. (of course i might be completely wrong on your reasons for thinking all this....)

Brazil's great, isn't it?
Bloody rocks, I think a while back you wrote that you were going os and i tried to let you know in brasil that little town called bonito that is just amazing with it's freshwater rivers and wildlife. Did you ever get that message? Did you get to go there? Pretty hard to get to that joint from memory it was 6hrs from Campo Grande 3hrs which was dirt track. And there's about 90 people on the bus, mostly standing, and heaps were sitting on the roof!

Anyway I know what you're going through dude, it will suck for a while yet. Just never get sucked back into the rat race ok! Even if you're here for a year or two or five, always keep motivated to keep progressing in life.

I recommend you a book, I'm not into books much but i read this one whilst on a trip and it's fantastic if you like real life adventure pushing the limits stuff. Called 'Into thin air' by jon krakeour, it's about the everest climb a while back that took 12 or so lives in the space of 24hrs. Makes you want to climb mt everest, well it makes me want to anyway.

I understand perfectly what you are going through SBagman. I arrived back in Australia in July and went through the same feelings.

Not anymore however. In January I am out of here - woohoo!

Who wants to settle down when you can travel and in my case get paid for it?:D
