Dodongo's Dilemma

Dodongo has a dilemma that Dodongo would like opinions on. Dodongo has just found out that Dodongo's sister is a lesbian. Dodongo caught her and her partner in bed together. Dodongo doesn't know how to approach her and Dodongo doesn't know what to say to her. Dodongo has mixed feelings about this as Dodongo's other siblings are straight and she's the only one who is attracted to the same sex. Dodongo always wanted Dodongo's little sister to have a guy and not a girl. Dodongo also heard that Dodongo's sister wants to have a bady with Dodongo's sister's partner. Dodongo's sister will be carrying the child.

Dodongo was shocked. Dodongo thinks that is a huge step. Dodongo wants to disown her but Dodongo can't do that to Dodongo's own flesh and blood. Dodongo doesn't know what to do. Dodongo is the only one that knows. Dodongo doesn't want Dodongo's neice to grow up without a father figure. Dodongo thinks it will be harsh on Dodongo's neice. Dodongo can see it now that all the kids at school are teasing her saying that her parents are lesbians blah blah blah. Dodongo doesn't want that but Dodongo feels Dodongo has no choice because Dodongo wants her to be happy, but Dodongo is feeling all strange about this situation.

Dodongo would like to know what you will do in this situation? Dodongo would also like to know if Dodongo should tell the rest of the Dodongo clan because Dodongo knows that they don't know about this? Dodongo's sister didn't even want Dodongo to find out but Dodongo found out first hand.

Dodongo wants to get it straight that Dodongo respects lesbians and has nothing against them, but Dodongo doesn't know what to do.

Another prob that might pop up later is the daughter might try to find the sperm donor when she becomes an adult. Feelings could get hurt, but if she (dodongo's sis) wants to do it....

but Dodongo is feeling all strange about this situation.

Once you understand, it won't be a prob.

Dodongo would also like to know if Dodongo should tell the rest of the Dodongo clan because Dodongo knows that they don't know about this?

Up to your sister. Try to convince her she should tell your parents, but if not do the right thing and keep a secret.

My advice is to do nothing. There is no pressing reason to do so. If it's a fad for her, you'll be able to laugh about it together at 50th birthday parties.

If she's committed to her course of action, your's and your family's lives are about to become much more interesting. This is surely a good thing, given that you think this is something worthy of mention on here.

Not that I would ever discourage any of our members sharing their more lurid experiences.

I would have thought being a lesbian could be whatever you wanted it to be, unless you allow other people to define yourself. It appears you are enamoured of the concept of 'naming' people, as if one term is adequate to the task of describing the complexities which constitute what it is to be human.

These comments about psychologits and their ilk are more an assessment of their honesty and ethics, rather than a categorising of their lives. The point which seems to escape you, which I'm trying to make, is that by naming people 'lesbians' you are limiting these people to being a mere label, attached by you. You also seem to (loath though I am to say this) think that your understanding of what it constitutes to be a lesbian is the only interpretation available to those who discuss this issue.

What I'm querying is from whence you gain such certainty about your opinions, whereby any nuances which aren't included in your definitions are, without question, wrong. Some could be moved to interpret this as mindless determinism, but I would never do that, because I hold you in such high regard.

I'm sure you can lift yourself above the abysmal level of discourse you are displaying on this thread, but I AM a supreme optimist.

I'm somewhat flexible, because this is a lot of conjecture between what is a lesbian and what is a bi, and whether bi's are lesbians too. There's certainly some arguable grey patches in there, but you said being a lesbian (ie being gay) could be a fad. You're wrong and I don't think any gay person would agree with you.
