He won't be the last to be Sellwooded.

Never have I wanted one of our players to sacrifice his career and smack an opponent in the mouth as I did tonight.

The problem is that the Hawks are a target rich environment of insufferable campaigners.
Just wanted Sellwood to plant a right hook flush to the chin and lullaby his a$$
Also kind of glad that he didn't

I don't want to ever hear anyone say sack Bevo ever again.

Whatever the faults for this team they wanted to run through walls for him and the club in the 2nd half.

A season we thought was dead is very much alive.

Not sure why you're including Weightman in that list. 82 mins time on. Most sprints on the ground. He's running fine

He made a mockery off those who thought he needed a run at VFL level before returning to the AFL.

He'd be wasting his and our time at that level.

The timing of his return was perfect...You channel and ride this sort of emotion.

As an aside: I think we saw the best 4 possession game in history when Will Lewis went campaigner to campaigner with the biggest campaigner out there in Sicliy and made him look like the campaigner he is.

This. What did Watson say? I was occupied elsewhere.
He was asked about his battle with Sellwood and he said something like - I don't mind the talk as long as he walks the walk (in his usual cocky wenker voice).

Not sure what to say about that, I did say a lot in that first half so maybe I used up my words for the day.
The Hawks like to play with niggle, but there may be a blueprint for other teams with the opposition doubling down.
Rapt for some of the players who have copped their fair share, namely Coffield, Crofty, & Coop.

Well that wasn't fun. Must be a few happy posters in here. I'm not sadistic enough to read through all the posts but that comeback win brings you guys back into the premiership picture. Good luck for the rest of the season. Fingers crossed we meet again in finals.
You're wrong. Read the thread in its entirely.

Its really magnanimous and complimentary about your club, its players and how they go about it.

Hands up whose not going to be able to sleep until 2.00 am...:p
The replay is on Fox now, and again straight after. You could watch all night.

It was a great win. Some young players standing up was good to see. But we should still be realistic about our coach ffs.

Did he make the hawks kick 1.11 in the second half? When 3.9 would’ve won it? Come on.

Newcombe with 37 and probably two votes, three if they had won.

This is why we continue to be mid-table and not contending. Sugar rushes of these wins covering over the issues.
Many poster we not to the club for being unlucky in losing the vast majority of close games from 2022-25 of which many of those losses involved opponent accuracy - reducing assessment of the club to the level of "but if you don't win a final or finish top 4 that's all that matters".

We can't have it both ways. Either we measure Bevo and the club for 4 years of being unlucky and then count our luck in close wins this season, or we don't. We can't be critical because of fortunate luck this year but then fail to recognise bad fortune in previous ones.

Remember that game we played against them in 2019 where we came from behind at 3QT and won.

Sicily had an epic meltdown in that game too.

He’s just plainly unlikeable Sicily, always good to see him lose it.

Selwood doesn't need to sacrifice 5 weeks at the tribunal to beat a player.

He just beats the player 🤷🏼‍♂️

Was Watson out there? - I didn't see him
The absolute oneupmanship by Watson, Giinie et al in the first half wasn't there in the final quarter from memory.

Speaking of the coeckwomble Ginnivan... You only get a free kick for taunting if you ruffle the hair. If you pound a bloke on the chest whilst he is on the deck that's ok
And what about the acting performance, lying motionless on the ground. So lame and not even convincing. The Hawks are obviously coached to exaggerate contact. There were other incidences.

Will be interesting if we pull anyone from the VFL tomorrow.

Bevo in his pressure mentioned if Cody had played VFL he wouldn’t be able to play Adelaide as it would be a 5 day break.

Given we need to replace McNiel at a minimum will be interesting if we pull anyone out

Funny season. Lots of luck variance turning our results into a roller coaster ride. From the injury crisis and losing 4 straight to 3 straight 1 goal or less wins in a row, where we’ve had a lot of uncontrollables go right for us, tonight it was the Hawks inaccuracy.

We weren’t prepared well at all going in and took a monster effort/buy in to wrestle it back. It just looked like as Ed said - they were sick of rolling over to these campaigners.

We’ve got the backline playing a lot better, the ruck situation is settled with Tim and Lobb…if we want to start getting really controlled wins we need to fix up our messy play up forward. Even with our 3 wins our entries have made it really difficult. Defaulting to a lot of high bombs in, without a Darcy there to clean them up.

Lewis causing Sicily to lose his marbles reminded a lot of the time Schache (of all people) caused Sicilys peanut brain to go into meltdown as he kicked a few in a comeback win.

From our losses last year I believe in only one game (Geelong) did we lose having more scores than the opposition.

I’m not trying to split hairs here, 1.11 is ludicrously bad and regardless of shot location you’d expect a decent team to convert better than that.

The players worked their backsides off in that second half, and thoroughly deserved the win. But let’s not pretend it was a coaching masterclass when a 3.9 second half from the hawks would’ve led to a loss.

Most of us are entrenched in our positions now - you’ll see anything through Bevo-tinted spectacles and mine are the opposite. That’s fine, let’s hope you’re right and I’m wrong and we go on a run to end the year and launch into 2027 as a genuine flag threat. And not that we end up seeing more years of mid-table finishes and no finals wins.
