MELBOURNE DEMONS!!!
well, shane woewodin is now a pie (ew, i hate the sound of that!!), no longer a demon. its just... wrong. i dunno, he's always been that player who's there - if you get what i mean (which you wont - rachy might). im more upset than i thought id be, but as im at school, i havent showen anything - which just makes me MAD!

i cant believe the club would do such a thing... our vice captain and the 2000 brownlow medalist. as much as i HATE to say this, we're going to lose alot of female members for the next season. i for one will ALWAYS be a melbourne supporter and ill stcik by them as long as i i live, regardles of whether woey's with us or not.

good bye shane woewodin, good luck...

agree there Mishy, whilst it may have been in Melbournes best interests to get ridda Woey coz of salary cap reasons i still think it will have a bad affect in other departments such as marketing and the 'chick supporter' side of things.

Blurgh Collingwood is gonna be crawling with little jailbait teeny boppers even worse now with Woey down there

I'm not gonna say much (for fear of getting into trouble! ;) ), but we came out alright in the end.

Yeah, we traded Woey and pick 12, but we recieved a very talented player in Chris Heffernan, plus picks 16 and 17. We can also let out young guns shine now.

It will take time to get over, but many thought the same thing about Wiz, and look at us now.

Are you so p*ssed off dees*gal because of sentimentality's sake, or becasue you seriously think he is that valuable a player for you???

Mish u know that Or and i used to bag Woey something chronic. u know about the peroxide and ****. but that doesnt take away from the fact that he was a ****ing excellent player. and i must admit that it is a stupid decision of the club. i could think of a couple of other players who should have gone before Woey. but yeah on the membership thing i dont think we will lose heaps of female members. to me the whole idea of tearing a membership up over something like that is a tad rediculous. but then again thats my line of thinking.........

Who says we didn't try. Also Woey was the most over-paid player at the club, getting rid of say Robbo would not cure our problems.

im rapt to get woey to pieland but melbourne, after the obvious initial disappointment etc, will see theyve done alright. not sure why you guys didnt get rid of powell before woey (is guy rigoni still on your list?) but heffernan, 16 and 17 for woey and 12 along with the obvious easing on the salary cap is an ok result for the dees.

We have done alright in the end. I'm not as ****ed off over the Woey trade as many others, but that doesn't mean I don't agree with it. I just want to look at the positives (and there are plenty) and look to the future.

can i just say that dees fans have handled the woey deal much better than us pies fans have handled the davis trade. very different circumstances i know but other than the natural disappointment of losing one of your guns, dees on this board on others have been critical but constructive. good luck for '03.

Thanks Dees. mighty Mick Malthouse is already singing the praises of your, no sorry our, woey. He says he will add some more classe to our on ball brigade.
Hey we call our on ballers "The Wolf Pack" and thanks again for the addition.

Cheers ramjet, good luck for you also in '03.

Yeah, thanks alot Ramjet. We are shattered at losing him, but I think many of us believe that it's much better to look at the positives, and there are plenty. Like Deestroy said, Good luck for 2003 also.

Murray - I would prefer a centre line of Yze, Johnstone and Heffernan over Buckley, Woewodin and Licuria.

for the best interests of the club, i think it was stupid to let him go.. he does do great things for the club and is a VERY loyal player at the same time. yes im upset that he was traded because he was my favourite player, but at the same time - and more importantly, i think it was stupid of the club to have let him go.

and nicki, in a sence i do agree with you... i (and pretty much every melbourne supporter i know) wouldnt even THINK about throwing my membership away over a player, but sadly there are some people who would. as adams said, there's no point in having members who'd do that - but we DO need the money...

Sorry Mish, but I don't agree with that. While everyone is ****ed off about, in the end it WAS in our best interests to trade him, as he was on FAR too much money. Our core group are all re-signed and we can add the class of Heffernan to that.

It might be hard too believe, but they did the right thing. We will all be able to see in time.
