Come on. Even as a Bombers supporter I can clearly see that the only big get there was Goddard.

Personally I can't see Essendon being an appealing destination for free agents or signed stars until they put the ASADA issue behind them and enjoy a couple of good years on the park.

Apart from Goddard the rest aren't much to write home about. Chappy and Cooney joined to top up their super, Bird would not have been best 22 this year at the Swans and Leuey fell along way behind Martin and needed a club he would be 1st ruck at. Surprised you didn't name Kelly, Dea, Brown etc.

Contracted or not, Connors Sports Management will get the trade done, will be very advantageous to them in a monetary sense when they claim commission for both contracts.

Hurley is very interested in a fresh start with Bulldogs and EFC are ready to play hardball in an attempt to lure Stringer on the big contract, nearly double of what he is currently on.
EFC are sensitive to the fact that Stringer does not need any attention in regards to contracts at this extremely important time of the year but will put plans in place and have the offer ready when the time is seen as appropriate.
