Look at it sensibly in a game, for example Heath Shaw gets 150 & T.Cloke gets 32. Instead of bitching and moaning about it, be ____en grateful Shaw plays out of his skin and creates an average of 91 between the 2.

Yes I find those people annoying... almost annoying as the ones who post in FanFooty live chat about how many points they're on, and how many more points they need to get to X... or how many points they need to beat X, in their league. FFS, ____ off I say! They're usually the heroes who are on 2100 or so and are complaining that someone isn't pulling their weight..

About time the tools on this board got a taste of their own medicine.
The amount of mindless banter that goes on of a weekend from some of these blokes is ridiculous, every player in your team is not going to score 100 points...just play the game and do with your Dt what you will..to many hard luck stories that nobody cares about!
and agreed, fanfooty has become a joke...to many young adolescents destroying what is a good site!
Monty should monitor some of the garbage that is qouted by some of these kids, it's a disgrace!

I think the problem with these boards is that the average age of a poster has gone down dramatically.

A lot of the grammar used looks like my 9 year brother was the author.
I'm not targeting anyone in particular, but I know a lot the posters are students from these Scopus (school) leagues. Based on the rankings of the multitude of their leagues, they are obviously keen and knowledgeable DTers.
And I not saying you need to be a certain age to post serious comments.

But in general, there is so much pathetic, immature content posted here, it is turning away the serious, more intelligent authors of content.

And before anyone asks or targets me in retort, I'm 28, have been actively involved in the DT side of these forums for the past 2 years and am a 'newbie' due to the fact I don't tend to post in any other of the forums.
 
I have to admit I do enjoy reading the Live Scores chat, guys yelling at rookies for only scoring 50-60 points by 3/4 time and claiming they're scoring 2300+ in DT.
 
Not to mention the ones that carry on like pork chops about their poor disgusting week, and they have like 1900+ :rolleyes:

Oh and who gives a shyte about other people and their league games. We don't want a qrt by qrt, point by point running commentary of your friggin leagues. :thumbsdown:
 
the most annoying call in fan footy has to be the "oh crap why did i put X as captain".. X being lowest scorer at around 5 pts..and its like the 2nd tier ruckman..

I think this year is definately a tougher year than weve had in a while.
Guns are either not performing early in the year or are under injury / suspension clouds.

However it really effects everyone, even ******s pick the big name players so you find it evens out alot. And a number of middle range or rookies (Palmer, Ibbotson, WOnnamerri, Rioli, Tippet) really seem to be stepping things up which helps put some of a gap between players who did their research and people who didnt. I also think it makes the game abit more interesting. Less 2000+ scores and closer league games keeps things more interesting in the league.

Ok well im not going to get all upset and start arguing with you rather i will explain my comments. 1925 is not a bad score in some circumstances but for me it is, this is not because i think i am the best DTmer but becuase that score makes me lose rank and makes it harder for me to achieve my goal ranking for this year. When i was referring to it being measly if you cared to read the rest of my post was becuase of my backline. Obviously you are new to this which is fine but try to see the otherside of things before you start attacking me.

exactly, and people have the right to be disapointed

Say if after saturday afternoon, i was on target for about 2100+, but then eneded up with only 1925, of course i would be disapointed, as i could have got alot more, and if certain players had have lifted could have got what i was on target for

Yeh, look getting a little side tracked here with pretty useless bickering.
It is understandable for those with very high DT standards who feel as if they are serious contenders to be dissapointed with scores -2000.
But I think we can agree this

For a 2010 week is absolute bullshit and a blight on his/her credibility.
Check track records, the poster seems to do it most weeks.

I know i hate one thing that people do... When someone dosnt touch the ball for atleast 3 mins, they immediately assume that player is injured...

"Is _____ injured? Hasnt touched it for a while"... That while isnt even over 2 mins...

Given the point of this thread, I think I'm with Les Norton. People shouldn't complain when they get 1925... no buts or ifs... I don't want to hear if you are actually a god dream teamer and 1925 is actually a very poor score for you - that's just egotistical. Even the guy who got 1500 was aiming for 2000... and everyone got hit by the backline curse last round.

The exceptions to this thread are when people whinge and moan about Nathan Jones and Beau Waters. That's absolutely permissable;)

But if 1925 makes you drop ranking then of course the person can be annoyed it all depends on the week.
 
However I did just witness Les Norton being quite the hypocrite in another thread concerning dream teamers who are ranked poorly (beyond 5000). 1000 aint that bad Les, you should take your own advice and not condescend others who genuinely are struggling.
 
I just noticed this thread. I, too, get very annoyed with Shellers, to the point of ignoring him where the forum software allows it.

On the FanFooty live chat, yes, it does also get very juvenile at times. You wouldn't believe the lengths I've had to go to in trying to provide an adult level of discourse. I have some sympathy for the kids who ask if their player is injured, and I try to keep up with the news tidbits as fast as I can. Unfortunately I can't provide live interchange info, so while it would be great to have little indicators about which four players from each side are on the bench at any one time, that's not possible.

I don't have a problem with people singing out what they need to win a league game, especially late in the last game of a round. It was very funny last week when Athomas gave us updates with what he needed, and Kane Cornes got him the last three points he needed to win by a single point with about 22 seconds to go!

As for the "oh noes player X was my captain", that did tick me off for a while but now I don't mind it, as long as the poster is creative. Then again, I like running gags.
 
I'm sure that anyone who has been around these forums long enough knows that you've got to sit back and have a chuckle at sheller's posts.
He's harmless and provides some much-needed humour at times.
