Certainly have a lot of room left for a big fish.
See what happens.

Exactly... how many free agents when this trade period??? I'd say there will be alot more movement via Free agency next period.

Hopefully we continue to use the draft and can target a free agent to increase the talent pool.

Who are the big FA's next year? Danger is one...Cotch another!

Arent RFC supposed to have the pay structure with players etc ? I don't know how it works but I'm guessing they try and keep like tier 1 players on a certain level then tier 2 on certain level etc etc so we don't overpay anyone similar to what cats done when they were winning flags . Now what i don't get is if we go after a free agent like Danger to get him out of Crows where he has business interests, likes the place where he lives etc then the offer would need to be a huge one like 1 mill + a year or something of the sought with a long term attached to it .

So what happens to the pay structure side of things that the club are trying to put in place , will certain players at our club get peeved off if we were to land a Dangerfield type deal .

I'm with nut. We will have massive coin to land one or two big names next off-season. And then I am going to personally quote* every post from every whinger bleating that we didn't pay overs for the B-graders on offer this year, reminding them what they would have cost us if they had Dan Richo's job they so richly deserve.

*Won't actually do this cos I can't be ****ed.

It annoys the **** out of me people complaining we haven't gone out and spent big on players who really don't deserve a big payday. Same people would go ape shit if we did and one of the big name FA next year actually do move and we missed out because we paid big for a ordinary player this year.
It has been pretty widely reported that 2015 was when we would go for some FA.

Exactly.... and I dont really think we need to get a big fish.... its identifying where we most need more quality on the ground. Sometimes getting a C+ midfielder allows your B+ midfielders turn into A graded midfielders.... Its sides with strengths in their list around the 24 to 12 top players that are able to play at the highest level for the longest.
So next year I would be looking at trying to get in 2 or even 3 players in the restricted free agent bracket.... instead of wasting it all on 1 over priiced player.... and then keep hitting the draft.

For next year .... Clubs can pay upto 105% of the salary cap providing they were at 95% the previous year.
Clubs know
Players know
Managers know.

So if we go at 105% in 2015, we can only go at 95% again in 2016?

You'd think with our retirements we can go after a big FA or two next year.
I also think they have tailored our TPP to reflect our need to maximise our ability to get top players right at our perceived peek of talent, with frontloading and paying the minimum of the TPP whilst still holding all of our good players.
