Scharenberg at 10 and Simpkin at 13? I'd take those.

If we beat the Bombers tomorrow the current 2016 AFL Draft would see us with pick #5 to begin with. If Harrison Macreadie goes before or at that pick we'd probably have pick 6 (if GWS take him with the pick Collingwood gave them plus a discount).

Sam Petrevski-Seton and Will Brodie could conceivably go #1 and #2.

Jacob Alison may well go to Brisbane and Jack Bowes to Gold Coast (zone picks) but that likely wouldn't change our choices even if they finish lower on the ladder.

Which would leave us to choose from:
Josh Battle (tall forward)
Josh Rotham (tall defender with some midfield potential)
Jarrod Berry
Sam Powell-Pepper
Jonty Scharenberg
Ben Ainsworth
Jy Simpkin
Brendan Parfitt
Jack Graham
Andrew McGrath
Dylan Clarke
Jack Scrimshaw (tall defender with some midfield potential)
Hugh McCluggage
Jordan Gallucci
Daniel Venables?

I remember the first time I came across the McCluggage family. I was drinking in a pub and my mates spotted his elder brother, who they knew and who was a fairly big fella himself. They told me about him and I burst out laughing, shouting about what a silly name it was and basically using all the puns I've used on this thread. I was pretty drunk so was probably talking loudly and obnoxiously. As I said "what kind of a bloke is this McCluggage anyway?" like a smartarse, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I stopped and turned around and it was him.

He said "Carry on, mate"

ROFL hahahahahaa

A fair bit tbh. First rounder and a decent player. Surely he's happy and required at West Coast though? Gun player. Not sure Saints should give up what he'd be worth.
General consensus on our board is first pick and Acres.. We hope he doesn't leave..But apparently offered a big deal and hasn't signed yet

Apparently St Kilda interested in Gaff, Just wondering what you guys would think would be a fair trade ?
Tom Lee and a year's supply of Dare iced coffee?

Wouldn't trade Acres and he's on a long term deal; will be a very good player. Reckon Gaff will sign anyway.

other issue with gaff is his kicking. its not elite and can be poor at times, due to how much KM's he punches out... i just feel it could be a bit like the jetta trade for wce, they get a good outside type that never reaches the same heights (i know its early days on jetta)

would be a good get though, but as you said, i think he stays at wce

I think his footskills actually are elite. He can deliver some real lace out zingers. I think you might be exaggerating a bit here to fit the narrative?

I could be wrong.

Know Josh Battle pretty well. Trained with him a few times and played with his brother. Good young kid, always knew he was good, never top 5 in a draft good though. Think he could be a bit small to go that early.
