Man I love Ezekiel Frank and Campbell lane reminds me of Will Langford the way he plays.Kobe Mutch is going to be some player too. He looks like he's got a complete game.

Played against Eze Franks father in Darwin he was a hard nut and didnt mind throwing a few around.

that goal from PP was every bit as good as it looked live. some those passes were pretty bloody good. nice size about him too

my boy guelfi getting some highlights. bloke is bloody hard at it

Galuci's highlights were less than impressive.
Really liked PP though.. he could be a real chance at our 1st pick if Brodie is gone etc..

This might seem a long shot. But the AFL has brought Priority Picks back on the agenda and it seems the Lions have brought this forward as much as any other club.
Arguably where they are at they might deserve one, however, I think you have to be consistent and give it to ALL other clubs who may be in need of a priority pick and I think STK could be one of them.

Since 2010 Saints finished 2nd, 7th, 9th, 16th, 18th and 14th. This year it looks like we will be somewhere between 12-14th with GC, Lions, Essendon Fremantle certainly behind us.
In 2010 Lions finished 13th then, 15th, 13th, 12th, 15th, 17th and it looks like this year they will finish 17th again. So in 6ix years the Lions have been literally nowhere.
For the other teams Essendon won't get a priority pick, Fremantle won't, GC have had enormous concessions, Melbourne are looking like winning 9-10 games this year and have also had their share of PP.

Which leaves two sides STK & Lions, IMO you can't give it to one and not the other. By giving both sides an End of First Round Pick 19+20 will hopefully help in making the AFL more competitive.
And I think STK argument could be on the basis that during their decline the AFL brought in two new clubs which pushed their draft selections down significantly costing them strong talent we they needed it most so it was a terrible time for a club to be in decline. In 2012 they over-achieved and I still say today I wish we were crap because Goddard left and gave us a first rounder.

So I know it seems a long shot but I think they need one.
Which would hopefully mean their first pick is 7 and end of first is say 21 and also have a third about 44.

As a result with 7+21 they need to be picking the best pure midfielders available hopefully Brodie. And the best mid at 21 whoever that may be.

Don't think we are really in need of a priority pick nor should they be given out for mine.
Asking for one is a sign of weakness that I don't think the club would do.
There are plenty of good signs at the Saints forward line mainly and I don't think we've been really disadvantaged like Brisbane.

The AFL made a mockery of the Priority pick.
Priority picks were designed to help get a struggling team re-established.
When Melbourne were given their priority pick.

The AFL gave their baby child a means to poach the pick from Melbourne. Yes they got compensation, but by giving the compensation years after the original pick, the priority pick failed in its "priority"
Melbourne then exacerbated the problem by choosing a player who was underage and could not play for a year.
Melbourne are just now experiencing benefits from the priority pick given to them more than 5 years ago.

Aren't they only still around for something rare like a young player passing or something?

Article in today's HUN on what Essendon will do if they end up with pick one said that it's the HS's understanding that there will definitely not be a PP given out (at the start of the draft at least) this year.
Very unlikely well see a PP at the start of the draft ever again IMO. I think they are most likely to be end of first round picks if anything, which wouldn't really affect us this year anyway.

Just had a quick look at the ladder predictor for the rest of the year. We wont get a top 5 pick unless our last half of the year is an absolute disaster.

I think that between 10 and 13 will be really close so we could end up with anything between pick 6 and 9, probably closer to 6 though depending on how Richmond, Melbourne and Carlton finish off the year.

Of course I could be way off and we have no idea who the top 6 players are so no one probably cares but my Mrs is watching he beloved Hawks and I could not be ****ed with that shit.

I'd predict between pick 5-8
If we have a top 3 pick Richo will be gone

we are better than Brisbane, Essendon and GCS. Freo should win 5 games out of their next 9. Carlton, Richmond, Collingwood and Melbourne are better. we end up wirh Pick 4.

Freo winning 5 games out of their net 9 will still mean we only have to win 2 to finish on top of them.

We play all the teams that you say we are better than so we'd hope for 3 wins there and we also play most of the sides around us in Melbourne, Richmond and Carlton 2 times. Even if we only beat one of those teams that is 8 wins for the year.

With Battle and Strnadica proving to be nice key forwards and looking at the bottom few teams. Given the price of key forwards are so high, think Ess, Freo, Brisbane may look to draft these boys. Theoretically with these teams finishing below us it could mean that someone like a Mcluggage/Brodie/SPS slides to us which would be great!

The McDonald's SA Under-18 team has made it two wins from two starts with a 37-point victory against Western Australia at Football Park on Sunday.

After accounting for the Allies by 44 points in their opening match, the Croweaters put on an even stronger display against the Sandgropers, leading at every change to remain undefeated.

South Australia's midfield dominance was again a major factor in the outcome, with captain Jack Graham and his deputy Jonty Scharenberg again influential at the stoppages and around the ground.

Norwood's Jake Pitman has another strong game while Glenelg's Sam Walker and North's Ben Jarman were other significant contributors for Brenton Phillips' charges.

Glenelg's Darcy Fogarty took his Championship tally to six after booting another two while Will Hayward was SA's other multiple goalkicker.

The McDonald's SA Under-18 team will now host arch-rival Victoria Metro at Football Park next Sunday, June 19.

The final match of the 2016 AFL National Championship will be against Victoria Country at Etihad Stadium on Friday june 24.

apparently a typo in the goals. this:
WA: B. Starcevich 3

should read:
WA: L. Strnadica 3

At 183cm, he's not a lot like Kennedy. Closer to Dunstan, but will go lower.
