Dyson Sharp did an interview for Sen SA and asked about the go home factor. Which he answered well about it being an unknown.

But when answering he spoke about two SA players going to Perth (Bunga and Charlie Nicholls?) and how well the club helped with it. Perth on his mind especially when the clubs he got asked about were all Melbourne teams.

Next year watch him play ruck, KPD, KPF, kick and run for a kid already over 200cm as well as his aggression and attack on the contest and see what you think. Well worth what will be our F1, especially in year we’re likely to get Warner via FA and the benefit of getting him in for development a year in advance. He is tracking as an outstanding prospect.
Cool, if he is that good then he will be worth it.
I think your strategy of getting him in the mini draft is a great plan if he is that good.
Locks away a next generation ruck the likes of NN & Cox.
I have only seen his U16's games via video and he is a very high talent and already 200cm at 16 so he is going to be VERY tall.

Edit: after going back and looking at his U16's championships game I have underestimated Walsh.
Freakishly talented, freakishly tall 206-208cm when he is finished(S Darcy/WB vibes), quick, high footy IQ.
JTW, just take Walsh:westcoast:

Where is the poll for pick 2 .

My preference is CDT

Just because Sharp was Lark medallist doesnt mean he is a better pick .

Our last 2 Lark medallists were Sheed and O Allen

Having saud that I wouldnt be unhappy with Sharp at 2

Neither of these players would be better for not winning it.

2. Doesn't extend the arms in marking contests & isn't something easily fixed, which will limit his capacity forward.

JD 556 goals, 320 games and counting. Jack has played like a T-Rex all that time and is giving up minimum 4" to CDT.

If you're good enough, you'll get it done.

From his vid it looks as though CDT, due to athletic profile can get separation from his defender through acceleration against KPD's. For those that have seen him play beyond the vids (that dont show the lead up to him being open for the chest mark) is that what is happening?

Fellas I told you all. Connect the ****ing dots.

Clear as day.

For the love of God. Somebody leak it. Leak it to the press so I can start baking a Dyson Sharp cake. Before DRAFT DAY

They have enough points and can go into deficit for next year for both with picks 1 And 2. If that happens it wipes them out for the remainder of the draft.
If they match bids at 1 and 2 it'll wipe them out for the rest of this draft and most of the 2026 draft as well. I'm convinced we'd be have a red hot crack of getting Patterson with pick 1.

It was pretty cool to hear but pumping the brakes for a moment, it makes sense that Bunga has spoken to him as a former Central Districts player himself.

The maximum deficit permitted going in to next year is the value of picks 18+36+54 (the natural picks in an unadulterated draft for the premier). This is 1167 points.

GC have pretty much exactly the points available (4940) to match bids at 1+2 - if that happens, then they will not be able to match any other bids prior to pick 37 - this would have the effect of throwing their later academy picks back into the main pool unless they last until 37 - when you no longer need points, and GC can then take them.

I believe that if the club doesn't have a pick in the relevant round the next year, then their next picks are chewed up until the payment is done. I also think this would mean that GC would not be interested in trading out players for high picks next year (but maybe for 2027/2028 picks).
Yep, for this reason I'm 50/50 on whether they would match a bid for Patterson at pick 1.

If they match and assuming Uwland is bid at pick 2:
  • The will miss out on Addinsall
  • They will have basically zero draft capital for next year
  • They will have reduced ability to trade quality players next year (as the best picks they receive will be eaten up first)
  • They will be paying "overs" for the points this year, most other teams seem to want to move their draft capital in the other direction
Also, if they were to not match a bid on Patterson and we end up with him we'd almost certainly use the next pick for Duursama with no more bids, so they'd guarantee that Uwland slides at least one more pick.

I rate Patterson as being better than any of the open draft class after Duursma, so bidding on him at pick 1 should definitely be our play if we can't do a deal to split pick 2.

I did say it's not his final one but apologies for poor wording. You have to wait until draft week for the 2025 one, obviously. But 2022 to 2024 have been virtually spot on with the final draft order.
The one where Twomey nails it is his Draft week phantom.
His power rankings are always different

Would placing a bid on Dean (forcing Carlton to bid) and letting CDT go past 2 (EG: taking Dursma 1 then Sharp 2),

allow for a potential slider at our 13 or are we still too far back?

Someone will take CDT in the top 5-10, therefore freeing up some quality to slide deeper?

Exactly as I see it too.

Isn't that based on his contacts at clubs, rather than his own opinion?

This poll won’t work. Remove the split it option.

For example I want sharp. It sounds like he can be had by splitting so either answer makes sense.

Just have who you want as an option.
It would be handy if you could do ranked polls
