I've been a bit baffled by the whole North vs Hawthorn thing on the main board over the past month or so, theres always been a good healthy, respectful rivalry between the two clubs at the ground and on Big Footy.
I suspect in the past few months we've all had our moments (good and bad), we've all taken the chance to get our digs in. It's all getting a bit embarassing now, and it's doing neither of our clubs any credit.
North are happy that we have a couple of ready made key position players that we have sorely been lacking, who will help bring our promising young kids through.
Hawthorn are happy that they have taken another step toward rebuilding a list that needed to be rebuilt.
A win-win scenario at the moment, and if Hawthorn fail miserably as a result of our trades it really doesn't help North at all. Why should I be pleased if that happens, and vice-versa.
So lets stop the slagging, and the snidey remarks, let's restore the previously healthy relationship between the two sets of supporters. and lets focus our angst against the true scum of the AFL. And we all know that there are teams more deserving of our collective scorn than the Hawthorn Football Club and the North Melbourne Football Club.
Can we all draw a line and move on?
