According to today's SMH next year the Swans will play 8 Saturday night home games and 5 Sunday home games.

Personally, I prefer day games so I'm not that happy about it. My wife prefers night games so she is happy. Personal preference I guess.

However, the thing that has really pissed me off is that the Sunday games will be at 1:00. After fighting for so long to get the games at 2:00 we're going back to 1:00 to suit TV (Channel 9).

9 want to the AFL to finish at 4:00 before the rugby league telecast. Does this mean when interstate Sunday games starting at 2:00 are televised in Sydney we won't get to see the end? I'd say so. Is the TV coverage in Sydney going to improve next year? Not much by the sound of it...

I'm not sure if I like this or not. On one hand, the atmosphere at night games is usually excellent. But I personally prefer the day games - For one thing, they use the red sherrin, and I like the red sherrin!!!

transport is more of a problem at night too, unless you drive.

I prefer 2pm as well, but I don't mind the earlier starts... they used to be 12:40!!!! You have to wake up earlier and get there earlier, but you don't get as much sun in your eyes if you're sitting on the O'Reilly side of the ground (as I am ;-))

I'll adapt, I'm sure.
