I would imagine accountants at partnership level would earn near the 100K mark. You have heaps of options with your degreeRobin Hood said:Thats how i know cos a couple of months ago the Law Institute Journal published those figures. After working with lawyers for 18 months, I've found they are evil batsards!
I have no problem with someone defending M Bryant. If someone is going going to prosecute him, its only fair that he is allowed to get lawyer to present his case. Imagine if you were in court on a drink driving charge, with no defence lawyer.Leper said:Couldn't agree more.
Take for example the guy who defended Martin Bryant. How could a guy doing a job like that sleep at night?
And it's contagious. Even their receptionists and other staff become complete *^%$&#'s - even when you are their client they act like they're doing you a favour just letting you talk to whoever the tool is you're paying $$$$.
Can't say i want to clean toilets either, but someone has to do it.Leper said:I agree everyone has a right to a defence. My point is though, who would want to defend a guy who did something like what that guy did?
Drink driving is a tad smaller crime, but I agree with you on how drink driving cases are handled.
IMO you should just have a prescribed penalty and that's it. Like you do with speeding. Eg. 0.10% = x months licence + $x fine. If you don't agree with the penatly you can still take it to court, like with a speeding fine.
Call me cynical, but who advise on how these things are handled? I'm sure it's lawyers. So of course they recommend the process that will give them the most work and $$$$.
