Just following on the drugs debate from the AFL board, i just wanted to see if we could get an idea of how rampant people THINK drugs are in society.

So i'm just going to ask the following questions. No need for debate or anything - that can put in another thread if need be, just answers.

Of the Australian population aged, 18 to 30, what percantage do you think have used illicit drugs

in the last week
in the last month
in the last six months
in the last year

for the purpose of this question, illicit drugs would be marijuana, cocaine, ectasy, ice, heroin, opium, MDMA and pretty much anything you would put in that category. Don't need idiots coming on and asking, how many people drink coffee or drink coke etc,.

my answers

in the last week - 10%
in the last month - 25%
in the last six months - 50%
in the last year - 70%

in the last week - 2%
in the last month - 3%
in the last six months - 5%
in the last year -7%

Is there an official answer somewhere?

Those are probably too high, i reckon if you halve them you'd be closer to the mark.

Yeah i'd have about

in the last week - 4%
in the last month - 15%
in the last six months - 25%
in the last year - 40%

With about 80% of those being weed.

Just my opinion.

there would be just as much E and speed as there is weed going around at the moment

in the last week - 20%
in the last month - 40%
in the last six months - 50%
in the last year - 55%

it would mainly be the same people. I doubt many people would only do it once every 6 months or year, if they use it it would be every month or every few weeks.

Hmmm interesting...all West Coast Eagles fans.

On a side note, possessing and taking illicit drugs is illegal and poilce read many message boards to investigate illegal behaviour.

and what do you expect people to be prosecuted in this thread??

for stating how many people you believe are taking drugs...

i can see the court case now.

"the state v Mr X, charged with the henious crime of stating, on an internet forum, how many people they believe are taking drugs in Australia"....

I will hunt out the official figures. I was at a conference last week, ad saw these.

but
84% of ALL drug users in WA, use ICE.

All hospitals in the state including regional, have had to implement special staff training for the aggressive behavour of ice users.

No way? I would have thought the use of, say, pot and pot only, would be much higher.

Apparently not. The figures were frightening. I was on a Health related seminar. The problems in the Health Industry with Ice users is mammoth. Those ads that are out,are a true indication of the abuse you can get from a hyped up ice addict.

People don't understand he affect it has on their physical and mental being, let alone on those around them. They may think, hey I am okay, I can do this, no one knows. Yet their loved ones are scared witless in the changes they see in the person taking the drug.
