I love both your midfield and forward line, both look very strong with a splattering of good, young kids in there. I think every midfield has got D Swallow, and rightly so. Ruck, fine, completely forgot about Z Smith. Whether he'll get many games with Day, Fraser, Gorringe etc. I don't know but the kid has a lot of upside. I love your Mzungu magic as well, EVERY team needs him.

I'm still making minor changes though. Had Callinan from Adelaide in there for a bit, but he's out for up to ten weeks now. Petrie's suspended for round 1, so Darling is on the field for him.

Swap R.Campbell for Zac Smith from Gold Coast Howie. Much better prospect and will get games. Lake has had about 4 different surgery's this off-season and is still a few weeks away so I'd be getting rid of him, could be a cheap pick up down the track. Deledio or Broughton would be good options.

Good side though.

I know there's a lot of hype on dual pos players, but I reckon you've outlaid too much cash on your rucks. Sandi, Hale, Fraser and Petrie add up to a hefty price. Guess it depends on how highly you rate the dp thing.

I would say that Lake is a big risk as he is still listed as inj for 3/4weeks,Enright has looked ordinary this NAB and Lower is no guarentee to be playing or on our main list for that matter,Duigan and Puopolo are risky
Rest of the team looks ok

Both teams need more freo players.
Should have atleast duffman or Broughton in backline.

If you wanna take a risk in DT pick Palmer.
I believe he will be back to close to his best this year.
An with the reduced interchanges his fitness will be very important.

Having said that i havent picked him too risky but very tempting.

I doubt Lower will play many games for us.
From the tiny bit ive seen of him i cant see him playing more than 5 games.

A little ordinary for my liking.

But who knows. Not enough "superstars" in that midfield and forward line for me. Defense is light on for dream team scorers too.

Kinda looks like the team I chose in my first DT year.

That looks like a very good team. The only thing you have to watch is that Gold Coast have the round 1 bye so you playing one short unless you swap your dual possie players over and Atley plays (which isnt likely). Other than that and J.TOY(injured) it looks a very good team.

They bye is round 1. All my positions are covered and I'll have a slightly lower score round 1 because no swallow, harris etc. GC players are very important to have because they will all be cash cows, especially the 1st year mature age recruit who are a must have.

You want players in there that spend time in the midfield or rack up lose possessions. D.Stanley from GC is a must have in the position, so is Otten from the Crows.

Mids: Make sure you add Harris from GC and get rid of Mundy, Gilbee and Ziebell. Players like Foley, Palmer amd Kennedy are much better value for money and should score more. I don't mind Cotchin in there, I did look at him but chose those 3 ahead of him.

Rucks: Warnock is too expensive for your bench, either swap him to Fraser, or if you are set on playing Hale in the forwards, make him J,Tippet so you can swap him with Hale when you need the cover.

Re-pick your forward line!!!! Use the extra money you have saved to get rid of D.Bradshaw, C.Yarran, R.Nahas, J.Moore, B.D!ck. Make sure none of these are in your team. Bring in S.Johnson, Chapman, Franklin, McGlynn, N.Riewoldt(MUST HAVE) and make sure you have Cam Richarson and Gamble as your cash cows

Superb overview, very well said. Anyone struggling with DT/SC read and follow these instructions, they'll help you out a lot. That was my mistake early on in my DT career; picking too many middle-tier players who weren't nearly good enough, you need a few genuine A-graders in each line.

I'm certain he will become A-grade, if not this year than certainly next. Grew just up the road from him and the kid has got so much raw talent (much like 'Sonny' Walters) and moving to the HB line was the best thing he and Carlton have ever done for him. Brilliant move by them

I've got 22 of the same players as you, with another 3 or 4 I'm bringing in after a few rounds.

It looks like DT is getting pretty boring.

Fair enough, I guess that's the limitation of the guns/rookies strategies... Everyone'll likely have the same established guns from previous years.

Not too fussed with having similar teams to many others, 80% of succeeding in DT is trading once the season starts

Love the Yarran move to defense as well, if nothing else, it'll be great for his development when and if he becomes a full time midfielder. Watching him in that first game brought back memories of prime Rog *sniff*.
