EDIT: sorry that wasn't my latest team
Correct Team:
Backs:

Goddard, Birchall, Gram, Adcock, Malceski, Raines, Fisher. L (Egan, Mckernan)

Midfield:

Selwood. J, Judd, Kerr, Dyson, Hasleby, Coughlan (Swift, Rich)

Rucks:
Cox, Ottens (Sellar, Currie)

Forwards:

Richo, Brennan, Porplyzia, Fevola, Koschitzke, Higgins, Watts (Sidebottom, Gumbleton)

Haven't altered my team for several weeks now and haven't really payed attention to the NAB. Any help would be appreciated. In general i think my forward line is quite risky. Need advice on the new rookies that have emerged from NAB cup and are likely to get a regular game. As i said this team is 3-4 weeks old and im aiming at making a final team this weekend, with the odd change for injuries etc.
Thanks.

Brennan just picked up an injury, and most likely won't play the first 1-3 rounds.
Coughlan has also been under an injury cloud, you may want to rethink him. I agree that once he plays he'll sky rocket in value, but I'm going to wait till he plays two games till I pick him up.
Watts is finishing Year 12, so is unlikely to play much this year.
Egan is unlikely to play this season, as he is still struggling to overcome his foot injury.
Porpz won't start contact training till "mid March" and will be unlikely to play come round 1.

Was wondering if I could some opinions on my team.
Backs: Goddard, Cornes, Drummond, Malceski, Houlihan, Raines, Hill (Patrenko, Laurie)
Mids: Corey, Thompson, Cornes, Gibbs, Foley, Rich (Beams, Cockie)
Rucks: Hille, Simmonds (Currie, Tippet)
Forwards: Deledio, Giansiricusa, Davis, Sylvia, Higgins, Skipworth, Ziebell (Walker, Gumbelton)
I’m a little bit undecided with Foley, Davis, Simmonds and I hear Goddard hasn’t been training?? So any commmetns and thoughts would be appreciated.

I'm pretty much in love with my team right now.
A few minor injury risks, a couple of players who need to step it up, but overall I love the balance of the team.

Backs:
S. Fisher, Goddard, Cornes, Adcock, Houlihan, Raines, Hill
(Petrenko, Suban)

Mids:
Ablett, S. Tuck, Gibbs, J. Selwood, Reilly, Rich
(Sidebottom, Beams)

Rucks:
Cox, Hille
(Graham, Jacobs)

Forwards:
Deledio, Didak, Stokes, Higgins, Skipworth, Krakouer, Zieball
(Grant, Brown)

Sylvia has been suspended from this weeks NAB challenge game by the Melbourne leadership group. Nothing major, and probably won't effect his season proper, but not the best start.

real what he get suspended for?? ill keep him in the team for now.....any thoughts on my actual team?

Being out late on a Sunday night, or something like that. Like I said, nothing major, and probably a good excuse to give him a rest.

Team looks quite good.
Backline may be a bit weak with only Cornes and Goddard the real premiums.
A few unique players in there, mixes it up a bit :thumbsu:

If i were you i would bring sidey in the forwards for Grant and bring in a Robinson or Anthony as a centre. They are much more likely to score big scores than Grant.

Yeah good call there, I'd forgotten Front bum is available in the forwards.
I think I'm going to get Robinson; I'm not tempting fate with two Kanga rookies in my team!

Well, I tinkered around with my team some more and came to this conclusion.

Drummond - risks are obvious. If you pick him, you need to be sure you have a good bench. Are you confident of this? Especialy with Grimes and Hill starting?

How much do you think Masten will improve this year? Because I don't think he can raise his level enough to be a keeper and he isn't much of a cash now (would need to step up by about 10 ppg to raise $50k). I had Masten in my team for a long time before I realised this.

Forwards - I think there is better value in the forward rookies than Gumby. He is a young KPP and won't really score highly unless he kicks a bag. And i'm not sold on Krakouer but keep him if you are.

But do you think Sidey can crack the 22?

First side for the day but one of many so far this year -

B - Cornes, Burchill, Gram, S.Stevens, Houlihan, Raines, Grimes
M - Ablett, Corey, Salopek, J.Selwood, D.McKay, Rich
F - Pavlich, Chapman, O'Keefe, D.Thomas, Higgins, Skipworth, Ziebel
R - Cox, Maric

Any thoughts would be very appreciated

Hmm my team changes like every day, but here it is:

D: S. Fisher, B. Goddard, A. Walker, G. Birchall, J. Drummond, A. Raines, J. Grimes, (N. Suban, J. Petrenko)

M: D. Swan, D. Cross, T. Boak, C. Knights, C. Masten, D. Rich, (S. Hill, D. Beams)

R: D. Cox, D. Hille, (A. Graham, S. Jacobs)

F: M. Pavlich, B. Deledio, P. Veszpremi, S. Higgins, N. Krakouer, J. Ziebell, M. Brown, (S. Hogan, S. Gumbleton)

BANK - $158,500

A. Walker - people will probably laugh at this considering his $364k price tag, but after watching what he did late last year I'm deciding to take the risk on a guy like this, purely for an X-factor. With constant attention on Fevola, it leaves space for Walker (as a leading forward) to take plenty of marks just outside 50 (and considering Carlton's decent midfield I'm thinking he'll get good supply). I couldn't help but notice him late last year and hopefully he's over his injuries :thumbsu:

Drummond - Him or Malceski?? Drummond's definitely got more potential as a scorer but is obviously one of the most injury prone mofos going round. Malceski is just as inconsistent I think. I like Drummond more so maybe I'll just stick it out with him.

Hill - I have a personal rule that I will never get a guy in the mids that I can get somewhere else, but I was having trouble landing on a youngster that would more-than-likely-play in the mids. Any suggestions?? There's some names floating around but no locks (that I know of)

Boak - Considering trading him out for for Bartel/Corey/K. Cornes. Help? I wanna see how Boak goes but at the same time don't want him to be a bust!

Forwards - Very rookie orientated, there's just so many bargains!! Plus I'll just wait for some forwards to drop in price like I always do.

Forwards:
R. O'Keefe
Thomas
Veszpremi
Lucas
Skipworth
Yarran
Ballantyne
---
Gumbleton
Stack

Your forwardline is going to make or break you in a big way.
Lucas has been scoring very low, Vez is in a poor Sydney side and has only played a handful of games.
Yarran is a rookie and could be dropped at any time
Ballantyne is injured and probably wont play first couple of rounds
Gumbleton is a KPP and will likely score very low also has had injury issues.
Stack - who?
Skipworth - Been scoring well, probably in the sides 22. Could get injured or dropped quite easily though however I think hes much safer than the ones mentioned above.
ROK - Been solid in the past but I dont like Sydney players this year. Do you think he will maintain or improve?
Thomas - Not a bad choice I could see him being in the awkward range just below a keeper but above a midrange making him quite awkward however I would think hed be an ok 7th forward come year end.

Can someone tell me why I can't start a new thread?? it won't let me, i think because i just signed up

I am trying to post a thread is called WHICH RUCK ROOKIES WILL MOST LIKELY PLAY??

i want to have a comparison between players like GRAHAM CURRIE MEESEN SPENCER JACOBS PYKE etc

and i would like peoples feedback.

if anyone could start a thread for me on the main board that would be fantastic

I think we should discuss this more, as i kind of dont understand what people are saying. He is priced at 69ppg, so why is it a problem if he improves by 15ppg and averages 84? Yeh he probably wont be a keeper, but he'd easily be a straight swap to a fallen premium, maybe even gaining you a bit of a cash, so what is wrong with this?

My issue is this: I think he will improve by 10ppg max. ie averaging 80, costing around $350k. What fallen premium are you gonna get for that price? The chepeast of the real top mids (ie top 6) starts at $437k

As of right now.

Goddard, Enright, Newman, Lockyer, Malceski, Raines, Hill (Suban, Petrenko)

Swan, S. Thompson, Gibbs, Wells, T. Tuck, Rich (Anthony, DeBoer)

Cox, McIntosh (Currie, Spencer)

Pavlich, Deledio, Giansiracusa, Houlihan/Lucas, Higgins, Skipworth, Ziebell
(Thorp, Gumbleton)

The magic number decreases as the season goes on, factor in perhaps a 10% drop in original prices. $450k minus $45k = $405k
Also should a premium have a stinker (say a 60 pointer) and the way the rolling avg works (last 3 games) then theres a good chance you could see them as low as $350k perhaps a little unlikely in the keepers we will want but I think you could probably pick one up as low as $375k at some point. Whether you will still have trades or whether you will be ready to pick them up at that point is a different matter.

Fairly solid side im sure your aware of any issues such as the injury proneness of some players and others who are fringe 22 players (some of your smokies) and then the three rookies your playing on the field.

Hill - I have a personal rule that I will never get a guy in the mids that I can get somewhere else, but I was having trouble landing on a youngster that would more-than-likely-play in the mids. Any suggestions?? There's some names floating around but no locks (that I know of)

I have the same rule, but have Hill in mids too. That's because i want a more reliable backline Gone with 6 keepers and Houlihan and hill is too expensive to go on the bench.
