Finally I think I have just about nailed my team.

B - Enright, Cornes, Bock, Drummond, Houlihan, Raines, Hill (Suban, Rance)
M - Ablett, Cooney, Selwood, Gibbs, T.Tuck, Rich (Beams, Anthony)
F - Pavlich, Harvey, Chapman, S.Johnson, Higgins, Yarran, Hentschel (Walker, Thompson)
R - Cox, Maric (Currie, Spencer)

So what do you think??

Pleeeeaasse give comment:o

Backs: Goddard, Enright, C.Cornes, Bock, Drummond, Raines, Hill ----- Petrenko, Suban

Mids: Ablett, J.Selwood, Gibbs, Boak, T.Tuck, Beams -----
Robinson, Anthony

Rucks: Cox, McIntosh -----
Graham, Jacobs

Forwards: Deledio, Didak, Harvey, Houlihan, Higgins, Skipworth, Ziebell -----
Brown, Walker

Thoughts please. 6th mid not 100% on...

Hey guys - I think the only final touch up I have to make is with my rookie forwards, who I haven't really looked at at all in the last 3 weeks. At the moment I am running with 3:

Ballantyne, T.Walker and J.Grant with Walker in the starting line up. Living in Sydney I have NFI if these guys are any chance of starting round 1 - I haven't seen Granty since the 1st round of the NAB against the Pies.

So are these guys any chance of playing in rd 1/early. I'd be happy to have 1 who doesn't and just store him on the bench till they debut but I want at least 2 of the 3 up and running early.

Walker is a definate.... it has been said that ballantyne is prob another 3 weeks from playing and then he will prob get 2-3 games in the WAFL to get match fitness up (Rnd 6-7 AFL appearance prob). I haven't heard to much on Grant so cant comment there..... but Mitc Brown from th eagles is going t play all year and has a mature body (even though he will only scoreyou 50's, i still think its a great option)

i think everyone is gonna be surprised wiht how mithc plays, will play chb the complete opposite to the way his brother does, he has a huge engine and will rack up possesions as a rebounding defender too..
your right on averaging 50-70's but id expect some big nyumbers, especially considering how much of the ball will be down there this year.

This is looking like the final team I'll take into Round 1:

Backs: Fisher Goddard, Enright Mattner Nicoski Firrito Roberts-Thompson (Suban Petrenko[E])

Mids: Swan[VC] Bolton Tambling Crowley Haselby Rich (Beams[E] Steven)

Rucks: Cox[C] Blake (Graham Orreal)

Forwards: Deledio Giansiracusa Petrie Rioli Jetta Hentschel (Sidebottom[E] Brown)

I've gone with Swan/Bolton in the midfield as they seem to be a very good value combo in terms of $/expected points compared to a Corey/other or Bartell/other combo. (Also, Bolton has a low standard deviation.)

Any suggestions for final tweaks or improvements?

Cheers mate - have swapped Brown in for Grant but may end up leaving Ballantyne out if Grant gets named for Round 1.

what do people think, im pretty happy with it atm.

thoughts please??

my latest team following a massive rethink

Backs: goddard, cornes, lockyer, adcock houlihan raines hill(petrenko, broughton)

mids: hodge, dalziel,selwood,gibbs,skipworth, L anthony( beams,davenport)

rucks: cox, hille( jacobs,spencer)

fwds: pavlich,riewoldt,franklin,fevola, lucas,higgins,hentschel(walker,brown)

My back line is probably a little weak but thats where i can focus my upgrades. my forward line is full of expensive players in the fab 4 and good reliable lucas and good value higgins and hentschel seems like good value.

My mid field has good players with opportunity to get the big guns later if need be.

any thoughts

I dont see that many more than any other team.
Mundy and up in backs would be selected as keepers.
Houlihan/Raines/Hill all have possibility to become keepers or just cash cows.

Gibbs and up would be selected as keepers.
Higgins possible keeper and one starting rookie (Most teams appear to start one in the midfield on BF).

Thomas and above would be selected as keepers.
Skipwroth/Krakover possibility of keeper, one priced mature age player starting.

Although perhaps not agreeing on some of the player choices the structure seems exactly the same as every other team posted here.

Definately get Hodge in the backs for Adcock or Lockyer.
Then get perhaps look at a Knights priced option in mids.
Very suprised that fits in the salary cap well done!

At a quick look mate. My advice would be mostly directed to the forward line.
J Brown isnt a consistant scorer anymore. 87 avg last year with 8 tons.
Fevola very tough choice, will only score you well if he kicks bags of 8 or more. Doesnt get up field possessions. 5 tons last year, a lot of 60's and as low as a 30. Cost me a grand final two years ago as well.
Porp, looking like being injuried for at least the first 6.

Better options in my opinion are - Chappy, SJ, Bradshaw, Pav or Ringworm (if affordable), Brad Johnno.

Hope it helps.

My team just went from (benches the same):

Fisher, Goddard, Cornes, Drummond, Houlihan, Raines, Hill

Ablett, Swan, Gibbs, Tuck, Haselby, Rich

Cox, McIntosh

Pav, Delidio, Chapman, Roughead, Higgins, Skippy, Yalrran

to

Hodge, Goddard, Cornes, Adcock, Houlihan, Raines, Hill

Ablett, Swan, Selwood, Gibbs, Otten, Rich

Cox, McIntosh

Pav, Delidio, Giansiracuisa, D Thomas, Higgins, Skippy, Yarran

I wanted to add another premium mid and some durability but I'm still not sure if overall I've gone forward or backwards... I do understand the risk I'm taking in playing two rookie priced mids... What do people think? Would I be wise to retrace my steps in some way?

B - Enright, Cornes, Bock, Drummond, Houlihan, Raines, Hill (Suban, Rance)
M - Ablett, Cooney, Selwood, Gibbs, T.Tuck, Rich (Beams, Anthony)
F - Pavlich, Harvey, Chapman, S.Johnson, Higgins, Yarran, Hentschel (Walker, Thompson)
R - Cox, Maric (Currie, Spencer)

Can someone give me some advise on ways to improve the above:thumbsu:

Defiently liking your team, but why has everyone got Hill and Raines starting.. I think its extremely risky when you have backups that might not play..

I have taken the comments made about my team (high risk forwardline) and have tried to address it accordingly

Original Team:

D: Hodge, Scotland, C Cornes, Bock, Newman, McLeod, O'Keeffe (Suban, Petrenko)
M: K Cornes, J Selwood, Pendlebury, Goodes, Foley, Rich (Dangerfield, Beams)
R: Hille, Kreuzer (Currie, Roughhead)
F: Pavlich, Franklin, ROK, Lucas, Higgins, Yarran, Gumbleton (Grant, Gourdis)

Possible Team:

D: Hodge, Scotland, C Cornes, Bock, Newman, McLeod, O'Keeffe (Suban, Petrenko)
M: K Cornes, J Selwood, Pendlebury, Goodes, Foley, Rich (Dangerfield, Beams)

F: B Johnson, ROK, Hall, Porps, Higgins, Yarran, Gumbleton (Grant, Gourdis)

Keep it as is or go back to original n hope to god the forwardline can stay stable for 8 weeks or so into the season? Comments on both teams welcome. Thx in advance

Of course I could always downgrade a mid to strengthen my backline, but i dont want too. This year the way i see it, alot of the premium backs will drop in price before they start putting games together, and so the chances to do straight swaps from players like Houlihan, Adcock and Raines to them will be greater. If this fails I will at least still have a half decent midfield, ruck and forward line to a lesser extent that will make a large impact to the teams score. All this strategy means is that i make a lot of trades to the backline earlier on in the season, before other positions on the field become a priority.

Not the safest strategy but im up for the risk/ reward that comes with it.

all righty i replaced adcock with hodge and lockyer with enright and brought in travis tuck in the mids

:thumbsd:
porps injured for few weeks. gumbleton injured but walker would be a better option anyway for that price. change ruck reserves to something like graham, jacobs. scotland coming back from injury, possibly replace with goddard. get o'keefe out of backline and fit skipworth into forward line.:thumbsu:
