Is there anything in particular you always buy Duty Free when you get the opportunity?

Automatically & definitely first port of call is the perfume & cosmetics counter then in no particular order – jewellery, cigarettes and browse around and see what else is about.

What are your duty free habits like?

A bottle of ouzo every time when leaving at SYD / MEL duty free's.

Only because you can't get it in Indonesia.

If only yeeros'es kept for as long.

Forgot to mention I always buy a bottle of Southern Comfort, yep the Ouzo is good stuff - being of Greek heritage the Ouzo is a part of the Greek culture on festivous occasions. :)

cool, and is it cheaper in duty free of any particular country - or are prices much the same throughout? (eg between Singapore and Australia)?

I always get some at brisbane Airport, but also at the destination I am going to as well. I have found Asia is cheapest IMO. Although Christchurch wasn't bad the other month.Very cheap perfume sale when I was there.

YSL and Chanel makeup. I sometimes buy perfume too.

On my way home to Australia i'll buy lots of alcohol, considering i'm travelling europe and america i'll get a few oppurtunities ;)

If you are going for liquor Outside of OZ and travelling Upstairs (read-USA), you have to be 21. Can't wait? take off to the Great White North, where you can be 18 or 19 to buy alkeehaul. Remember...American beer taste like making love in a canoe. Also....Foster's...Canadian for Beer,Eh?

Massive differences.

Example 1

Carton of Benson & Hedges ciggies will cost you $49 AUD in Australia. Same carton in Changi Airport = $18 SGD ($15 AUD)

Cosmetics such as Estee Lauder, Fragrances are always cheaper in Asia. NB: these aren't knock offs, but genuine article in kosher duty free stores at the airport.

Do all of your buying on the other end.

Yep, agree with you there those items are much cheaper in Asia.

are perfumes really that much cheaper Duty Free???

all depends on the perfume, some are heaps cheaper 50% or so others maybe a dollar! Some even cost more than at Myer or DJ's. It pays to shop around.

There are some perfumes and aftershaves that you can't get in Australia so duty free is the way to go at the destination end.
