:D

I think you'll see Artest cover young Wade and in turn completely embarrass him. Artest will really just be switched to whichever player is playing particularly well out of Jones, Butler and Wade. He will start games on Wade though you would think.

I can see the logic here, but unless Alston is on the floor too, Miami will just go to Eddie Jones or Caron Butler, particularly in the post, to exploit the match up of Indy's point guard on either of those two.

Ahhhhh yes. Mr. Wade, the rookie who plays for my beloved Miami Heat.

Good young talent who is bulit good for a kid.

more to my last

A star is born
"Last Rookie Standing."

That's what was printed on a sign held up by Siohvaughn Wade, wife of Heat rookie Dwyane Wade, last Thursday as she watched Game 1 of the Heat-Pacers series from Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Siohvaughn might have been too modest. Her husband, a 6-foot-4 point guard, has been more than just standing during these playoffs. He's been out-standing.

In some ways, Wade's been the biggest revelation of this year's postseason. Everybody knew he was good. Nobody could have predicted, however, that he'd perform to the level he has in the playoff pressure-cooker. "He's incredible, especially for a rookie," Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said.

Unassuming off the floor, Dwyane Wade has led the surprising Heat into the second round.

Surprisingly, Wade has taken control of a veteran-laden Heat team, including the likes of Lamar Odom, Brian Grant, Eddie Jones and Caron Butler. Wade is the Heat's leading scorer (17.4 points-per-game) and assist-maker (5.4 a night). When things bog down, he's the one Miami has counted on to make plays. Wade won Game 1 of the Hornets series with a tough floater in the lane against Baron Davis. He helped win Game 5 with a huge three-pointer from the corner. And in Monday's Game 3 against the Pacers he scored 14 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter as Miami snapped Indiana's 11-game win streak.

In the regular season, Wade demonstrated an ability to get into the lane almost at will. He's shown during these playoffs, though, that he's got a well-rounded game to go with his athleticism. On Monday night, he scored on a jumper from the top of the key, a short runner along the baseline and a dunk off transition. Like a young Michael Jordan with the Bulls, Wade has embraced the go-to role on his team.

Even opposing coaches have been raving about his play this postseason. "I love the kid. It's a cliché, but he's old-school," said Hornets assistant Alvin Gentry, who pulled Wade aside to tell him so at a shootaround before one of their playoff battles. "He plays the game the way it should be played. He plays with such intensity and passion, and then you add to that mix the fact that he's very talented."

Wade's mature demeanor also bodes well for his future. He and Siohvaughn, his high school sweetheart, have a two-year-old son, Zaire. Several of Wade's Heat teammates say fatherhood and family have made him more mature than a typical 22-year-old in the NBA, and this postseason has proven them correct. He has kept his calm after getting banged by Robert "Tractor" Traylor, being knocked hard to the floor by P.J. Brown or getting hounded by Ron Artest. He has let others, like his wife and coach, make note of the fact that he's still playing while more celebrated rookies LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony are at home. And he hasn't forgotten to defer to his teammates when the time calls for it.

When informed about his wife's "Last Rookie Standing" sign at the Pacers game last week, Wade reminded everyone that she was not technically correct. "Udonis Haslem is a rookie, too," he said, referring to his teammate. It was just one more nice assist by the rookie during these playoffs

Now he's just got to learn to play that pesky defence thing.

Who? Wade?

Wade plays awesome D. Hes 6'4 but hes got the wingspan of someone like 7'0 or something rediculous like that. Hes a great defender already and hes got heaps more potential to be an incredible defender.

The guy is amazing. i didnt see alot of him during the regular season but he has carried his team in the finals. His hit some big shots for his team and has become there go to guy in the finals. His got everything. He great defence he athletic can rebound pass and we all know he can score. And we all forget his hasnt played point guard his whole life and he come to miami and ran there offence very well. In my oppinion he could turn out to be the best rookie to come out this year. Lebron James and Carmello Anthony included.

His a freak! and his only a rookie.

He can play both ends and has superstar written all over him.

All he needs to do is work on his jumpshot...
