Just been listening to Russell and Wilson on AW.
Russell reckons the review has achieved very little. Virtually the same off-field people doing the same jobs. He got stuck into recruiting, suggesting that the father/son rule has been our recruiting saviour - without it we'd have an ordinary list.

And Wilson said we'd gone after a number of people [ including Smith who went to Collingwood] and none found the Cats an attractive proposition. Phew!!!!:o

Who is Smith ?

I wouldn't take much notice of Der-Wayne.He's just a Derryn Hinch wannabe.Actually he's probably hoping Derryn kicks the bucket soon so he can get his spot.Der-Wayne usually gets gigs when someone snuffs it.

Wilson is just a mad cow.

Just remember Dwayne lives in Geelong but is not a Geelong supporter and a lot there won't speak to him.Did he think we should be like St Kilda and chuck out everybody? There are a number of things that disturb me about him for nothing to do with football, he's a sexist pig for a start.

Depends, Apart from Hawkins and Woolnough have any others been touted as first round picks?

Suppose it has more to do with how well our selections have worked out. Nearly all the father/sons have given us something. Garry and Scarlo have been winners. Nathan is starting to show something after starting way behind the eight ball. Blake is taking time, but I think he'll be a senior player. Throw in Hawkins and I reckon Russell might have something. Also Woolnough would have been a regular, but for injury.

BTW 'JUBJUB', think she meant Walsh.

Not all f/s selections have been great and not many were rated before they were drafted. But it may make up for being one of the few clubs never to have draft concessions

Why do people on this site have to be so sexist and stupid - is that a criterion for being on it.

Caro at least has a go and says it how it is - and she knows her footy - takes no prisoners compared to the Mike Sheahans of this world. Dwayne Russell is paid to be a bit controversial on redneck radio - if you believe all of it - well!!!!

If the review has achieved anythin it got rid of Andy Lovell - what a relief

DR is not dumb. He almost always has an element of truth to what he paints with his words. Its just he grates because he always paints againts the grain.Like Newman he has probably seen his fair share of back slappers in Catland and feels this has generally not helped the cause of being a winning club.

I have thought myself that our Father Sons success have enabled us to be better than our middle of the road picks would have enbaled us to be. Think of Scarlett and Gary Ablett. How easy would the picks used to get them have been wasted on ordinary players that would have been far less successfull

Occasionally he shows he does have something postive.A couple of years ago he wrote an article on Nathan , when he was unsure of if he wanted to join our club. It was a very fair , articulate article that was one of the better pieces of writing on the subject of Nathan

His fixsation with Port always confuses me.He played for the Port Magpies like so many others that in the AFL now yet he realtes this somehow to being a Port Adelaide Power past player. Its a contradiction , the two have nothing to do with each other, in fact Im sure there are Crow players that play for the PA Maggies , so when there days are done would they think of themselves as a Crow , a Power or a Magpie. Would Corey Enright think himself more a Magpie than a Cat?. I doubt it.
