i rekon if we can get over the line tonite, id feel quietly confident of beating the eagles next week!!

they are ****ed!!

no mid-field!!!!

injuries.......

but as they say...... one game at a time......

I agree, I think the both the Swans and the Magpies should be feeling confident against the Eagles next week. The Eagles have way too many injury concerns for my liking. But it's still going to be tough though even if Judd and Cousins don't play.

Yep. But lets not talk about that. We did that last year!

Sydney. Sydney. Sydney. Must focus on Sydney.

I laugh when fans make out that they are the ones playing the game. The only ones who would be focusing on Sydney Sydney Sydney - are the players. What we think is insignificant to the outcome of the game. ;)

Well there is no point getting ahead of ourselves. Why bother thinking to next week? We haven't won yet. We did it last year, assuming the Bulldogs game was a bye, and everyone was shattered when we lost because they had their hopes up from projecting outcomes for weeks into the finals.

I still refuse to buy into the Eagles not being a chance next week, I reckon they will still be a hard team to match up against regardless of their injuries.

To be honest, I'm reasonably confident. We match up pretty well really, through the midfield we both have young guns with a few old wise heads thrown in and I can't see either side having any real advantage forward or back. Having said that, it depends upon which Rocca comes to play but you couldn't get a much better defender then Glass to stand him.

Rusling is a concern - I think Brett Jones is our best bet - he should have the pace and size

I agree 100%.

As for the above Rocca went pretty well against Glass last time, but the matchup we want is Glass on Rusling because he would burn him on the lead (Glass is no slouch, but Rusling is something else) and keep him away from one on ones with Rocca and Cloke. WCE might oblige and let that happen because Rusling will play in the square.

I can't see Glass on Rusling - I'm sure Worsfold will realise he'd be wasted there. I imagine they might try to play a man in front of Rusling more than anything.

Yeah I know Rocca did pretty well. Im not too sure how we will match up on your 3 talls. It would be mighty handy to have a fit, game hardened Graham or uninjured Staker right about now.

Unfortunately those super quick leading types have been West Coasts achilles heel for quite some time. We have played Chick on them in the past but he is too short and slow - he gets towelled. Glass is deceptively quick but we wouldn't want him on Rusling. Hunter is horrible on the last line of defense.
Brett Jones has the perfect size and is pretty quick so I think he'll get first crack...Hurn will probably be second in line - has done very well with defensive jobs this year and again, is deceptively quick.

Jimmy wouldn't take him?

Presti or Wakes tend to take the big key forwards (eg, Wakes played on Hall not just tonight, but 3 times this year. Bad comparison since Lynch isn't a dud, but you get me).

I think ill bookmark this comment :)

lol, hopefully you realise that was more of a stab at Barry Hall than a kind word for the Big Q. But having said that, I certainly won't take back what I said. With Barry Hall we could probably leave him unmanned and it would have no effect, but Lynch at least has serious potential to cause us some troubles.

Btw, I'm reeeeally looking forward to this game :D :D

I did...and I don't care :)

This is going to me intense - my missus is a die-hard Magpie fan :(

This isn't going to end well either way

Brukner reporting now on 774 that Rosa will likely miss with an AC joint, Wirrpanda will probably miss with a hamstring, and Brett Jones may struggle if he has a fractured cheekbone.

If Embley does not get up then their midfield is decimated - Kerr, Judd, Cousins, Rosa, Embley all out. Geez, we almost want a few of them to play so we don;t start thinking that we should win.

They reckon Ash Hansen may be back however, they always play better when he's in the side.
