The Eagleton slaggers would rather choke themselves than admit he did well. For whatever reason, once some people get a set against a player, they just cannot admit it when he has done well.

I don't pretend to understand it.
Spot on. It's sometimes just not possible to turn opinions around when someone decides they don't like a player.

Definitely worth his spot in the team, runs very hard to get into position, his critics should focus on him for a game and see how often he gets to good open positions having run from the other side of the ground.

Still have my doubts after last years finals series, is having a good year but against the best sides with more pressure and less time for disposal he is a big worry.

Agree he's having a good year, but Foxtel commentary reaffirmed it's pathetic nature by stating:
"Nathan Eagleton is the Bulldogs most important player. Shut him down and you've got them."
FFS, he's good but in no way is he our most important player.

Not true. I started this thread and will admit that since then he's turned things around. I'm glad - when he's on he's a good player. I want all our players to be playing at their best.

I still query his ability to kick clutch goals though, but he slotted a nice one late against the Cats - whilst our Captain choked, so he's not the only senior guy who can miss goals when the team needs him to kick them.

Hope he keeps running hard an kicking long.

I have never been a huge fan of the eagle tbh, he did have a cpl very good seasons there for a while after being very ordinary when he first came over. I thought he was gone at the beginning of this year and would be in and out of the side but to his credit he has been pretty good this year.

My major gripe with him is that his major weapon, his long left foot kicking is very hit and miss these days, i actually believe his kicking is quite a bit overrated although it seems to have picked up a bit again this year. Good luck to him i am happy do see him doing well and hope he keeps his form because he is an important player for us when he is in form.

Actually Gooka, that comment wasn't directed at you, but at the contributors to Big Footy who just seem unable to give the bald eagle a pat on the back on those occasions (not as rare as they would have you think) when he actually does things right. Of course he has his good and bad matches, but overall I think he is and has been a great member of the team for many years.
