if only we had weak administration like West Coast, he would have kicked 5 last week.

He got 6 weeks instead of 4 becuase we took the case to the tribunal. perhaps the 6 week club suspension could be taken to 4 with an early plea

I think that Farmer insisted that he did not eye gouge, and the club said well if you want to contest it, we'll support you. Regardless, Farmer's future is in his hands, and softenning in any way because we 'need' him would be a very poor move I reckon.

Agree. Softening would send the wrong message to the rest of the player group. The suspension should be treated like a tribunal punishment.

Joker, would love to know a bit more about Collard. How far off fitness wise is he to get a game at AFL? Regarding his form, do you think he would handle the additional pace of AFL? How would his body stand up to AFL (esp with your comments about his tackling ability-would he hold them at AFL level)?

Fitness, well its hard to tell, the reason he didnt play for Freo last week was because of that reason. He could sit in the pocket and float around the 50m arch without having to really over do it, just like he has been doing with south, only once this year have i seen him used up the ground and the good thing is he didnt look lost but he isnt going to be used like that at Freo. The thing is i dont think he is going to get any fitter sitting in a forward line a south.

His form is outstanding, that alone should be reason enough to play him in a position we desperately need someone to fill. Strangely enough the same position he is playing at south. Or dont we reward good form in the WAFL?

Well i just dont know, they are a lot bigger and faster in the AFL so only time will tell, but to see him tackling like that is very pleasing. That said he is of good size and very quick.

Regarding Farner: article in the paper today quoted Rick Hart as saying that there would be no change in the 6 weeks suspension, and that one game for South Fremantle didn't address the problems (words to that effect).

interesting cos on telly last night mark harvey was saying it might be reviewed but i guess rick would have final say?

What do you all think, if it comes down to a matter of finals football...I would welcome him back with open arms. Then what would CC Rick and Co do???

to me it's a lot about mrp & tribunal consistency

i don't agree with eye gouging but after holland gets a reprimand
if our coaching panel wanted to say well in that case we'll knock a couple of weeks off the sentence we've just given you
i would think that was fair
