Perhaps a drive into the country side will brighten the mood down at EF....Gero is such a great breeding ground for quality footballers....touch wood the team can get a win for the good folk of Geraldton

Some good young players up there now are in the dockers academy. We will not see them at East Freo, straight to west cockburn.
Good win by the colts today.....good spread of goal kickers again......3 young Gero boys in Dylan Curley, Max Murphy and Jack Carroll(WA under 16s squad member) appeared to have good games from all reports.....another Gero youngster in Ed Curley kicked 3 v Perth colts before the bye, he is now away playing for the WA state 16's team......the Great Northern colts team won some Northern Colts comp v Perth, Cl and WP country zone colts players......EF have a number of good under 16 boys who will step up to colts next year.....though 3 of them are with Freo's Next generation Academy in Haddow and the Walker twins....be interested to see what happens with them next year.....all 3 may "directed" to the Peel colts team for continuity, like what Carter did earlier in the year going from Cl colts to Peel colts......hopefully EF put the foot down and say no.
The reserves are playing a number of colts eligible boys today as well......trailing Cl at present but just not kicking straight.....Sereda, Ritchie, Patat, Strnadica and Anderson......plus the league have colts eligible boys in Scott and Bockman playing today.....with more than likely O'Reilly and Sharp to come in post the WA carnival......

20 point loss...obviously frustrating to lose, but good to see Kommer and Loersch back....Cl have been playing some good footy of late, so to out score them 8 goals to 4 in the second half is a positive sign...really need to get up n going early on in games tho...another debutant in Schofield...think that is number 12 this year.....gotta take that second half into the WP game next week.....be very depressing if EF can't win another game or two before the season is out....though TBH the Cl game was one of them me thinks
I thought we would be in with a good chance in our spiritual home. That was about our best team. Disappointing.

Excellent game from the PSA boy andana....EF colts are ticking along nicely....such an even spread of performance....after the bye the state boys should be available....Will be interested to see if Luke Jackson plays colts...his Aust U/17 world cup duties have finished....is he going to play footy for EF last 5 games to qualify for colts finals footy....and edge closer to where his sporting endeavours lie....Basketball or AFL.
Return of some injured guys bolstered the reserves team and lo and behold they beat the reserves top side.....good to see....hopefully more return after the bye.
The league pushed hard till midway thru the 3rd then went back to their usual ways and WP scored the win.....great to see Loersch hitting the scoreboard....definitely needs help....better effort by the side which come end of the day is all the fans want.

Milan Murdock won the player of the round for last week.
Cam Davidson the week before as well andana....pity Murdock is a PSA boy, but should be around come finals time....be interesting to see if Luke Jackson plays out the colts season now his basketball commitments are done internationally....
Another solid win by the colts, league tried hard for a half then folded....again.....don't think the reserves even turned up.....noticed on the WAFL site EF reserves have played over 60 players, the league 40 odd and the colts 55.....leading the way for most played in each comp.....LOL.....sums up EF season I guess.....though the colts seem to be the only shining light......mid July with still a 1/3 of the season to play....EF have 16 players unavailable with 11 of those season ending....hopefully the new coach can bring a new karma to the club...this year has been diabolical on and off the park for Wiley et al....
I watched Aust vs Canada.
Luke Jackson is a solid player but for me is NBL quality. Lack of 3 point shooting and lack of quickness.
Better for him to play AFL.
Totally agree mate....tho it wouldn't surprise me if he was offered a basketball scholarship in the US to test his wares, he has played 2 games of state under 18s and no colts footy this year...so hopefully he dons an EF jumper sooner rather than later....
Another game where we faded out at the end. Are we not as fit as other teams or lose focus. We have experienced players that should be good for four quarters.
Gonna be an interesting clash v SD on Sat....both sides struggling...tho one would think SD will have the greater incentive with a finals spot in their grasp....

Yep he is....but is bit small mate and didn't get into the state squad so might be off the radar.....
EF have picked a load of colts boys in the league side for SD this weekend....great to see....hopefully all or atleast a couple of them actually play....need some new blood and energy in the side....Watson is a ruck, Davidson a tall defender, Curley a forward and Robinson a mid...plus Meade and Jackson are in line for debuts too.....no Griffen, Jansen or Kommer tho....all out injured!!

Variety of names been bandied around for the EF job...Sumich, Woewodin, Monaghan, Waterman.....who knows TBH, bit of a poisoned chalice at present, with a lot of work to be done on and off the park to bring some order to the club.
Another 3 possible debutants in the mix v EP ...2018 F&B colt Zac Jackson, tall forward Nick Bonomelli and a colt andana has mentioned before PSA boy Milan Murdock....Interesting to see Curley dropped after one game and the other 3 colts all on an extended bench.....
Congrats to Joyce and O'Reilly for the main draft trial selection and Curley and Koby Eaton for selection to the state combine...Interesting that Eaton has only played one colts game for EF this year....injury or overlooked for selection?...yet a couple of AFL clubs interested....
