Ok I know their is another playoffs thread but it looks like that is more like a prediction thread. So I though I would make and East and West thread to talk about all the action in each conference throughout the playoffs.

So here it is....the EAST!

Seen as my Bulls (next year) and my Wizards ( :( ) didnt make it. Im going for the Orlando Magic, Nets or Philly in the East. I like T-Mac, AI and Kidd so I wouldnt mind seeing any of those guys get a shot at the title.

Anyways speak about all the first round action here!

Didn't you guarantee the Wizards would make the playoffs, again?

Oh well, Jason and the Nets all the way.

Yes I did like most other apparent NBA experts. And they should have too with the talent they have on the team. But they just never ever found any chemistry. Real disappointing :(

What percentage of the blame lays at the feet of their on and off court leader, Jordan?

BTW, Still claiming that the Wizards won out on the Rip/Stackhouse deal?

How can they never find chemistry after 82 games????

Egos and derision.

It's no secret that both Jordan and Stackhouse have huge egos, and it's also no secret that a few of the Wizards youngsters loathe Jordan.

It's hard to get going when Stack, Kwame and Larry Hughes all have issues with the man who is not only running the franchise, but is also their on court general.

If Monster Mash can turn the finals into a microcosm of his season, he could be the X-factor in deciding who comes out of the East.

At the start of the year, most of us felt it was a question of who would win the dog fight in the west to earn the right to play NJ in the east. Nothing has changed.

Considering Detroit have the number 1 seed id say that your wrong and this to be a very silly post.

Some blame obviously goes to Jordan but no player can hide from the failure of the team. Basketball is a team game and as a team they missed the playoffs when they should have waltzed into the final 8 in a weaker Eastern Conference.

Jordan did all he could on the court and the young players just never responded to his leadership. They should have but Hughes and Stack have their ego's, Brown is a child in a mans body....only Leattner, Dixon and Lue helped MJ.

As for the Rip, Stack trade. I still think the Wizards won because Stackhouse is the better individual player but Rip played off Jordan a lot better, something Stack couldnt do. But now with Jordan back up stairs and providing Stackhouse stays in Washington, then we will see the true worth of the trade. I love Rip, he is a great player but he is no leader and he cant win games by himself. He is a perfect fit for "no stars Detroit". Stack though has the ability to lead a team and win games for his team. So only next season will we see the true worth of the trade.

Yep...the problem though is that Brown couldnt take critisism and wouldnt work on his game. Stack and Hughes couldnt drop their ego's for the good of the team. Result, disharmony.

Whilst i agree, perhaps MJ could have 'dropped the ego' as well.

It works both ways.

I can't see how Washington won. Not only have Detroit proved that they have improved most, but they have the vastly younger player.

When Stack is retired, Rip will still be tearing it up in Detroit.

Perhaps but if anybody should have given in, it should have been Hughes and Stack. At least Jordan earnt his ego, I sure as hell would have one after what he has done on the court. But Stackhouse and Hughes havent done enough on the hardwood to justify their egos.

Let's just wait and see if a)Stackhouse stays in Washington and b)how he plays without MJ.

Are you seriously saying that as individuals, Hamilton is a better baller? No. Stackhouse is the better of the two but Rip fit in perfectly with Detroit while Stackhouse didnt fit in at all in Washington. But with Jordan upstairs, Stack, providing he stays will finally be the leader of the team. Then we will see how it goes.

Oh and by the way, the Playoffs are under way! Milwaukee v New Jersey just finished game 1 of their series. Milwaukee had no answers as the Nets destroyed them.

GP was well held as he had just 8 points on 3 of 11 shooting and 5 turnovers  He did get 10 dimes though but his team was outclassed. Kidd with 14 and 14 and K-Mart was a monster with 21 points and 15 boards.

The final score looks closer than it really was too. Final margin was only 13 but heading into the 4th, the Nets were up by 29 points!!

Boston @ Indiana about 20 minutes or so away from starting.

Half time in game 1 of the Pacers-Celtics series. Pacers have looked good early and Tinsley was on fire in the first quarter. Indy slowly moved away from the C's and it looked like they would go into half time with a comfortable lead of 12 points.

But with 26 seconds left, Pierce nails a 3 then Artest commits an offensive foul and nothing left on the clock, Eric Williams hoists up a 3 and it rattles home so in the space of 26 seconds the Pacers nice little 12 point buffer at the break sliced itself in half.

Should be an interesting second half but im going to bed now. Pacers looked in control though so I wouldnt be surprised to see them get up for the win.

The Pacers let it slip in the fourth and go down 103-100. Pierce gets hot in the fourth and scores 40 pts including 21/21 three throws. Battie was ejected for a flagrant foul on Artest.

I can't beleive we lost this one, The Celtics get up 103 - 100 on the back of Pierce 41 points for the game 21 of them coming in the 4th, he hit a playoff record 21 from 21 at the line.

What was Isiah Thomas doing down the stretch used up all his timeouts with about 1 or 2 mins left and he had Mr clutch Reggie Miller on the bench waiting to come back in? Bad time management down the stretch, needed at least 1 timeout to allow Reggie to come back in for....

But it won't happen again, I hope.

Go Pacers!

Pacers in 6:)

It's not about who is the better baller, it's about which team got the better of the deal.

Right now, the Pistons are CLEARLY in front.

Three Bucks Players Turn Themselves In

TORONTO (AP) -- Hours after losing an NBA playoff game in New Jersey, Gary Payton, Sam Cassell and Jason Caffey of the Milwaukee Bucks surrendered to police in Toronto and were charged with assault for a fight earlier this month outside a strip club.

The three players, along with their lawyers, flew to Canada, surrendered at 6:30 p.m. and spent a couple hours at a police station. All three signed affidavits which allowed them to be released on their own recognizance. They are to appear in court May 30.

Payton, 35, is charged with three counts of simple assault - equivalent to a misdemeanor - while Cassell, 33, is charged with two counts and Caffey, 29, faces one count.

The altercation happened in the early hours of Friday morning, April 11, while the Bucks were in Toronto to play the Raptors.

Police Sgt. Jim Muscat said trouble began when one of the players got into an argument with one of two women associated with the club. The situation escalated when the woman's boyfriend became involved, and the other two players, who had been waiting in a cab, left the vehicle.

From there, the club's doorman also joined the altercation. Muscat would not be more specific, saying other details will emerge in court.

Bucks spokeswoman Cheri Hanson confirmed that the three players went to Toronto to cooperate with authorities. She said all three would attend practice Sunday.

The timing couldn't be worse for the underdog Bucks, who face an off-court distraction in a series they already trail following their 109-96 loss to the Nets.

Payton was held scoreless through the first 3 1/2 quarters of Milwaukee's loss, while Cassell scored 16. Caffey did not play.
