It's hard to say with any confidence when we can't be certain all teams were putting their best sides onto the ground and trying to win each and every match last year.
If a team genuinely deserved the extra priority pick at the end of last season, surely that same team's supporters wouldn't be writing threads about their "easy draw" just 13 rounds later, would they?

You can't deny the rort and be smug about the spoils at the same time. How can you expect your rivals to hold you with anything other than the same disdain that any fair and reasonable person might feel for drug cheats, dole cheats and Workcover fraudsters?
Some might even include price-fixers in that dishonourable bunch.
What's that saying about a rotten fish and a rotting head? Something about being hollow, I think.

For example, after our flogging at the hands of the Lions, which resulted in Pagan's departure, Fevola had an MRI scan on his quadracep. Initial diagnosis was a 4 week injury..........with only 6 weeks to go in the season, could have put the shutters up.
Fev played the next week almost beating the Saints off his own boot, despite obvious trouble with the quad.....and played well the next few weeks until succumbing to injury........
I'm sure you have examples, but why would we play Fev if we were tanking and we had a scan saying give him 4 weeks off?
One might argue that by not playing JJ or Pev ahead of others who really haven't earned their spot.......that the Dons aren't being serious with their team selections this year.

The point made by the original poster is valid in that we only travel interstate a few times and have the top sides only once.
