Re: EB Games - AFL Live demonstration dates and discussion

im related to sydney half back Craig Bolton and he retired a few days ago will he still be in the game?

I'd consider him a fullback, but you'd think he would still be in the game despite the injury/retirement... that's like if someone was to do their knee right now if they were to be taken out of the game...

Right?

He will be in the game because he is/was part of the 2011 list. :thumbsu:

Just heard that another AFL Live play session is happening at EB Elizabeth Street Melbourne this Thursday 31 March from 10am - 2pm!
(I won't be there as I'll be flying off to Glenno's WA store in Midlands but you will have designers Andy or Francis who can fill you in on everything AFL Live!) :)

Damnit, I have a meeting in the city so this would have been perfect but also have a meeting at uni at 1 beforehand :(

Has there ever been times where no one is playing the game? Or is there always someone playing?

I haven't been to all playtests but there is almost always someone playing. Sometimes there are two tvs set up so that's 8 controllers to share. Some people are too shy to play (don't be though guys, no one is very good at this game except the developers!). The JB Knox one was a bit quiet so I managed to play for 2 hours straight with no need to give up the controller but it didn't feel lonely.

Good news on the melbournemartin front for tomorrow though, my 1pm uni appointment has been cancelled so I'll be at EB at 11 ready to play for 3 hours :p

Ross, do you know if there will be two dev kits there or just the one? It's quite a popular store so hopefully there will be a good turnout.

Any new footage out there

You may not have seen this one:

That's by far the longest I've seen. Unfortunately it's on a tiny, non-widescreen monitor though.

Hopefuly you can get some more footage and if possible maybe get some footage of teams or things people may not have seen.

BTW: FWIW you and ralphysaint35( hope I got it right) are two of the best for filming and getting decent footage of the game.

And I would like to take a minute and say thanks to you and raplhysaint35 for somewhat satisfying our hunger for this game.

Last Thursday there were a few moments where I had the chance to just play against the AI due to nobody else really wanting too. Very early on in the day I did that and a couple of times later too. It's strange the hesitation some have.

Oh it's on...it's on like a prawn who yawns and dawn!

Richmond vs Melbourne for 3 hours shall be good.:D

I have 57 minutes of 720p HD footage that I can take, will look at getting as much as possible (hopefully there's 2 TV's).

Thanks mate i have seen it it looks great
btw at the demos can you play on 360
and Ross what console's can you play it in the Perth session?
CANT WAIT

I think that all demos so far have been on the PS3 simply because they have more PS3 dev kits.

I have a 360 and had never played a PS3 before yet had no issues.

Cant wait for tomorrow. I'll be heading down from uni around 12, using my beloved (but sometimes terrible) doggies. Just a quick noob question-please forgive me-but whereabouts is the EB Elizabeth st located? Ive looked on Google Maps but cant get a good view on it.

Cheers

Midlands will be on PS3. See you there, it's going to be a marathon session!

Pretty much the centre of the city circle.

From Flinders Street Station (the side exit puts you out at the bottom of Elizabeth Street) you walk up a couple of blocks and it's on the right. It's a reasonably big store.

Near halfway between Collins and Bourke streets. Designers Francis and Andy will be there to answer any questions you may have.

Thanks both of ya. I appreciate it.

^^ Yep kids, if someone is hogging the controller ask them if it's Melbournemartin and if he could allow you to have a shot. ;)

They'll have to pry the controller from my cold, dead hands.

Sounds sweet dude. I'll try to pick you out. I can't remember if the store has good TVs. The EB at Swanston Street only has crappy little TVs downstairs. It would have been nice if they let you upstairs in the Nintendo section.

I'm presentingly clearing up space on my phone so I can take some 720p videos as well.
