should we? i think he would slot into our forward line quite well as long as he can recapture his 2007 form. i'd be willing to give up fish and our 2nd rounder but would try for a 3rd rounder

I said in another thread earlier that I think he'd be a great fit for the club as we haven't had a mobile medium marking forward since Skinny Lappin.

I think he'd thrive at a new club. I honestly believe he's not performing anywhere near his best in the Port setup and would benefit from a move.

We need to stop trying to solve all our problems by trading has bins and sub standard players. Look at the grand finals teams and last years premiers, premierships are won by drafting good quality young players.

Instead of trying to trade for second rate players we should be using our draft picks and trying to trade our poorer players to get more and improved draft selections.

what you on about...that premiership was won by drafting and old lump of fat who was retired from afl! and they are still chasing every player that isn't contracted, and some that still are.

nothing wrong with recruiting player from other clubs if they have the potential to bring something to the club, as long as the price is right!

Ebert showed in 2007 he is capable of good form. He is 26 next year, that is not to all old to get some good development out of him. He is more of a lead up small forward as opposed to the crumbing type, but he is fairly short at 179cm

In 2009, we saw how poor he can be. I don't see him 're-capturing' form he showed two years ago when they played off in a grand final...

At quarter time - Ratts can show the match ups on his forehead.
I suspect the space won't be available.

How could any sponsor worth their weight pass on an opportunity like it? A mobile bilboard............Eberts head brough to you by..........(insert humorous sponsor gag here).

Wouldnt he be playing the same sort of role as Yaz will be in the forward line?

Probably not Dramoth. Ebert would play pretty close to goals, whereas Yarran is more likely to play that high half forward role, and he would also push up into the midfield for brief periods of the game.

Ebert is a talentless spud ...

People who want him at Carlton clearly haven't watched enough Port Adeladie games.

I've seen more than enough Port Adelaide games.

He's a very good player when up and about and he's more than capable of playing some great footy as he has previously shown.

It's very easy to look bad in a team where there is hardly any forward defensive pressure (i.e. Westhoff, Tredrea).

He'd be great for our setup. A guy capable of kicking multiple goals are worth their weight in gold. Ebert is capable of doing that.
