Had high hopes on Ed and was really hoping he would make it but going into his 4th season I hate to admit it but I just don’t think he’s going to make it afl level. Unfortunately another waisted 1sr rd pick

Nightmare when you think about Hawthorn trading to take Weddle 1 pick ahead of us.

He had a couple of nice moments, but in year 3 we're wanting so much more.
Hard to justify his spot ahead of Prindable or Swadling for the next game though
Year 4.

Poor bloke's controller disconnects every time he's about to take possession. If he had the ball handling of Bobby Hill we'd have a star but unfortunately he's just a Callum Brown in Patrick Cripps' body.

It's the hands. Double grabs and fumbles everything. He's not blessed with finding time and space, so every time he needs two bites at the cherry, which is most times he gets it, he's cooked.

Unfortunately ball handling might be the single most difficult thing to train. You've either got it by now, or you ain't.
Does less ball handling than Larry Bird.

Planes Trains & Automobiles reference.

It’s all been said, but if you’re outside and can’t pick the ball up or offer overlap run what are you bringing? I missed the last Q, but he had one involvement where I remember seeing him in the first 3 where he provided that run burning the chaser. He’s too far into his career to be that player and getting senior minutes time to look elsewhere in the squad.

He lacks composure and panics when he has ball in hand. The moment he gets the ball he wants to get rid off it.

The midfield is too hot for him at the moment.

I’d like him to be trialed as a Nick Blakely type defender in the VFL. Maybe he needs that structure and instruction. He can take the game on and hopefully might get rid off his fumbles.

Like Geoff Hayward from the Club looks like he might be on something as looking around with no idea

Good one TD. He does have the ‘Geoff Hayward’s’ about him.

His demeanour in games also reminds me of Will Kelly. Very different players of course, but both look reluctant to be out there.

Needs to ditch the pink boots asap. If your a soft bruise free player the last thing you want is to standout even more. This pace we hear about, does he just use to run away from the contest? I would play him in the ruck in vfl for a block of games to see if he has any ticker.

I really wanted Allen to step up and impact this year, but it feels like he has stagnated at a very low level. He is always playing way too wide and doesn’t position himself to be used. He doesn’t have any mongrel, to go in and hit the packs hard.
He needs to be tried differently and trained to get used to body contact, pressure and impact. Play him down back and in the guts, give him roles in the VFL and only bring him back in when he shows consistency and impact.
For now let’s cycle through a few young players and hopefully find something….

I'm not sure it's ticker. He just doesn't seem to have the instincts on when and how to go when the game is played at the level and pace of AFL seniors.

In this game your mind has to operate at the speed of war. His seems stuck in Waterloo.
