His pace and running capacity and size could turn him into a great tagger.
Agreed - has potential. Just would like him to be a bit more confident by foot, but that's only going to develop at AFL level, hope he gets a few games from here

Play him for the rest of the year, I think that will come in time. Ed is a slow burn, he's getting better with every game he plays.

Kozzy would have him for agility, but not for pace.
Agree, but with how often Kozzy goes forward I'm not sure it would make too much sense. Either way he'll be a handful, but I think trying to nullify one of his in-form mid colleagues would be better

Not a bad game. Players started to use him on the outside, he used his pace and he looked okay on the inside. His disposal wasn't great, but overall, it was better. I will keep saying it. He is about a year away, body wise from being an okay AFL player. If feel his tall body is still developing.

I’m coming round on him! He has that ability to spread and his legs will be important for us. Has upped his intensity at the contest too.

Strangest bouncing technique I’ve ever seen though, might need a bit of work.

Bounces it like he's bouncing a basketball. Staggering that an AFL player could do this.

I’m warming to the tag/run with role for Ed.
It gives him a guideline.
He not your instinctive, playmaker type.
But he is slowly improving and running with/ giving him a role may be his mojo.
Who knows it may instill further confidence.
There is a glimmer of hope….

Looked wierd - but it came back to him, so who cares.
Being able to do that at speed is an art in itself. He looks majestic in full flight. Good game last night and really put the screws on Bont. Persist

Yeah I think it might actually be a good technique at that pace - doing it from higher reduces the likelihood of the ones that hit the grass and skid forward rather than sitting up - which is the risk when you've got to put it out so far in front of you at that pace.

It's funny, in the VFL this season Ed's disposal by hand and foot has been excellent....I'm not to worried at the moment but for the rest of the year he's a fix for the AFL so we'll see....

I thought that was Ed's worst performance by foot this year but the run down the wing was something we hadn't seen by anybody else this year too so bitter sweet!

edit: IQ is the other that takes the Oppo on with run.

He had that moment in the last quarter where he won the center clearance and managed to find a target in the f50, shows that he is capable of such things in high leverage moments.

He needs to build on his endurance as he was close to being invisible for 3 quarters.

Still has the tendency to be second to the ball.

Since he is in his contract year, we are better off playing him in every game and continuing his evaluation.

I had a coach that used to make us practice it if you rotated through the middle. I'm not joking but I used to do it a lot as a kid at the local park. Butters is the one I love at full flight. Nick does it beautifully also

I was good at bouncing, my secret was being really ****ing slow it also meant I very rarely did it, so errors were incredibly rare.
