Allan has a wonderful footballer build. I get frustrated when a player does not develop and the same issues do not go away. He has been stepping up in the VFL and AFL. Each game. Well done Ed. OOC 2026. The idea of a multi is starting to sit well. Play him. Watch him.
He lacks some footy smarts, but a super athlete
Tagging makes sense at this stage of career
Fly will have to change his structures though as he doesn’t like to tag regularly

Being able to do that at speed is an art in itself. He looks majestic in full flight. Good game last night and really put the screws on Bont. Persist
If he can start to steady for kicks at high speed, watch out. Really looks like he is (finally!!) trusting his pace

Hopefully he can hold his spot as a tagger, with heaps and heaps of work on fundamentals, as he's sloppy.

In the second half I noticed he was used and received handballs from by De Goey and Naicos more than usual (playing middle helps), but it looks he is trying to insert himself more, he even showed some aggression and pushed a player in the ground after a tackle and ball up was called which is very unlike him. Before he seems very passive and you wonder if he ever calls for the ball.
Trajectory moving up, hope it continues. I hope he isn't a permanent tagger, while he is doing a good job, tagging does have a limit on your game.

It's more that most taggers are limited. Good role to learn if you ask me.

It would be a good way to watch gun players at close quarters and learn from them.
His job on Bont was worthy of praise.
Onward and upward, Edward!

I thought he'd suck as a tagger, but he was good on Reid too.

I think it was a function of NAS’s positional versatility as much as anything
Pez still more suited to mids who can go forward. Allan suits the straight mids like Cripps, Neale, etc. Whether he can do the job is still yet to be seen, of course.

I was a big sceptic and I'm still pretty skeptical... but there is definite progress, albeit slow. Who knows, maybe by the time he reaches free agency we will have a decent mid on our hands! Seriously though, happy for him and hope he can keep it up.

Tagger - even when Pez returns? That’s the conundrum.

Pez has tagged once or twice for us. How to use Pez is more a Parker question than an Allan one.

But even if tagger was his regular gig, if any of our youngsters look capable of doing a good job in a role, the seniors will have to shift to accomodate - both in terms of our depth shortage and our list development.

Allan is progressing well. Needs to stay in the seniors.

The next piece of the evolution will be identifying an option by hand when he is on one of those runs.

As for Pez in a perfect world I would have him in the midfield as well.

So, a CFC coach at halftime, why don't we send Ed to Ed....Shite, not bad! Again after the third, why don't we send Ed to Bont....Wow, this kid ain't so shittey! Opportunity, I have no idea if Ed will go on but it's great to watch.

Left field thought, give him the job of tagging Callahan.
He has the wheels and good endurance to stay with him.
It’s a way to get him off the wing and into the middle, hell he might even learn something from the exercise.
Plenty of taggers have gone on to become good midfielders.
Ling, Kirk, Dunkley, Cornes, Carr even Licuria and I would be happy to wager he has all of them covered athletically (not mentally).
Posted this on this thread 26th March, was almost laughed at
