Hey guys,

What do you guys think his chances are of holding his spot in the swans team?

I had already read that before my post. However i just wanted to know if after his two games has done enough to consider himself a regular best 22 player.

How many players are below him in terms of being dropped?

DT interests aside, I'd be very disappointed if Barlow was dropped anytime soon, unless he hit a very poor patch of form and we were left with no choice. He's been talked-up as the new Adam Goodes, and even though that's going a little far, I can definitely see the similarities.

Barlow is extremely quick and agile for his size, faster than Goodes and is a great shot for goal. If you saw him side-step 3 Lions last weekend and then drill the ball to Hall, you'd have an idea of his talent and see why us Sydney supporters are quite excited.

I hope that little review has answered your question/s.

I too would be very disappointed if we dropped him. He really has some talent, is versatile and has a shot at becoming a key player for us.

Thanks for the response mate! Yeah loved his game last week, showed a heap. The doubt wasn't weather he would produce, rather him being the scape goat.

I'd imagine you would drop bird and bevan before barlow?

Well, I would, but Roos is very much a team balance type of coach, so Barlow could always be dropped for structural reasons. I'd imagine Bird would be the first player to get dropped, not because he's no good but he's very "green" and will no doubt need a rest at some point.

Personally I believe Barlow could easily play all 22+ matches and shouldn't need to be rested at all. His skills are upto speed and he'll only continue to improve, plus his body isn't getting hit from pillar to post each week.

If Malceski returns and picks up where he left off, then that could also cause problems for Barlow, but Grundy would be more likely to get dropped if that was the case.

His goal while being tackled from behind was pretty good, too.
I've given up trying to predict who the SC will or wont pick each week, but he's in my top 22. He'll have to keep performing, because competion for spots will be fierce once Spida, Crouch, Schmidt, Fosdike, Playfair and eventually the Eski are all fit again. Even now Davis, Brennan and Matthews cant get a look in. Not to mention that rookie that everyone is raving about (Vezpremi?)

put it this way hes a freak did any1 see his kick to bazza on satday night. absolutley superb (and the 2 fakies before that)

yep
sheer class
probly the single most impressive thing he's done, and shows how much more confidence he's got
he's a dead-set star on the rise, and part of our new generation that seems to have swept the club up in a wave of enthusiasm and excitement

I would be very disappointed if Barlow lost his place in the team for no other reason than injury. He has shown glimpses of brilliance in his couple of games in the firsts but anyone who saw him play in the two's last year will know the boy has a ton of ability and you can't teach that.
