How ridiculous, ASADA at local footy what on earth is with this about!? On the footy EDS just too good today, played hard and aggressive and eagles certainly off there game. Injuries starting to really mount at craigieburn. Young and Gordon down early today, J Cloke a bad facial injury rushed to hospital could be the year? Add that to the 3-4 that didnt play today. On a sour note the treatment of jason cloke from the EDS supporters as he staggered from the ground today in a very bad state was nothing short of disgraceful!!! Absolutely feral and the club should be ashamed of that crap! Went on all day too
They were way to good today and smashed our boys all over the ground and injuries should be no excuse because they game was nearly over by then great side and will be very hard to beat but there supporters were a disgrace and there were a lot there today that had a bit to say that weren't there last time they meet or have not been there for the last few years weak as piss

Shocking

Yeah Bissa I heard it was a dascrace but you no what they say if it looks like it and smells like it it generally is
It really was an absolute disgrace. Happened at half time to the whole craigieburn team the abuse hurled at them was a joke! But to jason it really was something else, he was really struggling and in a whole lot of pain. Arrogant bunch of people!!

Opens right up maybe even a Westo or a Tulla can challenge if craigiebutn drop of. Can't believe this drug test thing, did they get tipped of or something about one of the clubs or both?
Lets not forget eagles beat tulla by 80 pts last week and flogged westy by over 10 goals. Got some injuries yes but they just had a bad day today an doutta took full advantage to there credit

Maybe the insider is getting a little excited as on face value it opens up even the relegation stakes are anyone's.

Yes because you get treated with so much respect up at Craigieburn. Was up there last week and the under 10 kids were being sworn at by players and supporters.

Lets face it, there are dickheads everywhere and unfortunately a high percentage of them are attracted to local footy.

Eds has been pushed and bullied around in A grade for 5-7 years and we copped our medicine coming down to B grade. So Jason Cloke elbows young calvaresi in the mouth at half time. The players were superb in flying the flag not letting this big blokes push our young kids around. The supporters were ferel at half time maybe because big C Cloke had a few choice words to say as he was walking off which was before Jason's injury if you insight a fight don't expect a team/club to lie down. They won't do that, Douttas won't be bullied. Super effort by all onboard. I think they made a massive statement today with a 68 point win. With Carey kite skinner castles and myles to come in.

What was great when nick fletcher 'shhd' the crowd and Douttas kicked 7 in a row. Or when cam Cloke gave dean wallis the finger after a goal. And Douttas kicked 9 in the last.

Craigieburn insighted the crowd. They deserved what came to them

Fact, yes there was a level of banter hurled at Craigieburn players following some less than brave on field actions just before haltime. Fact, Jason's large melon made contact with Saliba's small melon during 3rd quarter and left the ground and then received some more banter! I spent most of the game near the EDS coaches box and the level of unacceptable abuse, foul language being hurled by Craigieburn supporters towards players, bench and umpires was a disgrace, big difference between this and banter.
Fact, EDS were the better team on the day, they hunted the footy and played with passion and yes they also had their share of outs, much too good on the day - suck it up !!

Yes what happened at half time not good but to whack someone from behind in the 1st QTR Number 4 on Gordon is cheap too.But when umpires will not control a game properly or allow that rubbish and it has been going on all year behind play hits then things turn feral.Well done to EDS they won we will meet again in the finals. The ASDA testing what a stupid joke that is

I would have thought that if ASADA are going to be testing at this level it would need to be disclosed at the start of the season so that clubs can be educated in full about the whole process and whats on the banned list etc still even as stupid as it is you could cop that as its known policy of the league that needs to be adhered to. My work place goes through random drug testing and people get sent home for taking certain pain killers etc so i would say its the leagues responsibility to make sure that the clubs are educated or at least give them the opportunity to get educated and brief there players, yeah who wants drug cheats in footy but imagine if someone missed due to nurofen/ protein drink or something similar?

EDS were very good, both sides seemed to be missing a few, CB as mentioned had a couple out and copped injuries during the game and with EDS outs and Mitch Day getting injured(ankle i think) basically losing there whole spine. And yes heard that Clokes injury was as a result of his own team mate.

On the behavior from crowd, I'm from EDS and would agree that some of the banter/abuse from our own crowd wasn't great, some was provoked from CB and some wasn't and yes i didn't like the abuse at half time at all, no need. He said she said anyway i watched from a few various positions around the ground and would say there were a number of CB supporters that were equal for sure. All i will say is next time we meet come and watch the game with me, i support my team and appreciate good play from the opposition, i must warn you though i do enjoy a beverage or two so it could be a long day/night :)

Also was near play ground with daughter at one point and found it interesting that Cloke snr threatened an EDS supporter from the crowd that he would smack him, yeah I'm from EDS but trust me as i would happily be honest if our supporter was out of line but fact is EDS supporter said nothing bad and Cloke snr was way out of line. Footy clubs are like kids its like no matter what we do wrong you always stick up and justify your own just the way it is. There are ferals at EDS and CB however no more than anywhere else i would say as a whole both clubs are fine. Both clubs are winning and have larger supporter bases so more noise i guess.

The Drebster

Meh. Douttas needed the win more and played accordingly. Was impressed with young Barnes who stood up well to Jeremy Page. Thought our kids were good and will be better for playing on quality players.

And please, don't call people pigs as it will only be edited out of your post.

Never good when a club goes through the season undefeated, good for the comp there is now a legit challenger to Craigieburn.

I agree, although I thought there always was and I still wouldn't write off the others come finals time where anything can happen.

Taking nothing away from eds, they really were grest yesterday, but justifying the crowds behaviour just goes to show your clearly apart of the problem because it was a joke! Glad drebster can acknowledge it was way out of line. Anyway lets move on

Found this on the drug testing. Going to post the article in full.

LOCAL football players have been drug tested by the national sports anti-doping authority just one week after controversial sports scientist Stephen Dank spoke at a club event.

In what the Herald Sun understands as an unprecedented move, ASADA officials descended on a local match and randomly tested four players from two teams in the Essendon District Football League yesterday.

It comes a week after Dank was guest speaker at an event held by one of the clubs, Doutta Stars.

The Stars are coached by Dean Wallis, formerly a premiership player and football administrator for Essendon who was implicated by the AFL in the club’s supplements saga.

Stars team manager Robert Lamberti said he had never heard of ASADA officials drug testing district football players.

“I don’t think this has ever happened in local footy,” he said.

Two senior players from both Doutta Stars and Craigieburn were randomly selected for drug testing by ASADA officials, who turned up at the Stars home ground Buckley Park in the middle of their match.

The players were taken to the change rooms to give urine samples.

Clubs and players were told if they did not comply they could face a two-year ban.

Mr Lamberti said ASADA gave neither club a reason why.

“There was no suggestion about Dank (at the Stars event),” Mr Lamberti said.

“But it’s just a bit of a coincidence, don’t you think.”

The sports scientist spoke at a Stars function last Friday and defended his role in the Essendon supplements saga.

Dank has threatened to take the AFL to court after he was slapped with a lifetime ban.

Craigieburn president Brian Hall said ASADA’s random arrival at the game “caught everyone by surprise”.

“Why? It’s the question everyone wants to know,” he said.

But there was no answer from ASADA.

The authority did not respond to phone calls or emails last night.

It would be about dank not the clubs ASADA /AFL wouldn't want him cashing in on the speaking seen, why a club would engage him is a disgrace and I'm tipping he will have some cancelations this morning

I don't condone the way they reacted all I am saying is that certain players insighted the crowd. Was it right? No. But do you get where I'm coming from?
