Dont know about you guys but I see a few eagle supportters are feeling the heat.
The lads from up the road have been sitting pretty all year , the members have snapped up all the GF packages and too me there are a few challenges coming from other forces who are starting to play well & looking fit & more importantly FRESH !!

I think the WCE have peaked too early and IMHO I think they will fall over cause I doubt the teams I have been referring too , 1 has beaten the WCE & the other 2 were beaten but when they were in their preseason mode and played in a diffrent manner in which they are playing now.

One things for sure, this weeks match should be a shoot out against the doggies. It will be a real test for the eagles leading up to the finals, playing against a lot of teams playing for their season, finals football starts early.

Good English idiot...............

nick off mikben...

Hitman - i am sure the weav supporters are quite comfortable about where they are right now, and probably also feeling quite comfortable as the derby approaches. And why wouldn't they be?

Just a little more comfortable than you guys.....................

They will be dead after playing on the dome. coming home to play freo who have not had to travel the week before.

The knives will be out blaming the afl for the loss.

Ah ...the derby. Will we be in our heritage guernseys or does that not matter? I suspect we are in good stead to throw a fright the eagles way. They undoubtedly desrve to be favourites but heaven knows it will be an intense dual.

We will throw the sink at them and if they can swat it off well then I say well done and may their endeavours continue. We are shaping up to be playing the best football we can and if they are better then they are deserving winners. The boys can only play to their maximum. Game on.

Hunter on Pavlich. JCarr on fletcher. MCarr on Cousins. Crowley on Judd. Parker on Lynch. Glass on McPharlin. Wirra on Farmer. Banners on Medhurst. Walker on Steggles. Cox/Seaby on JLo/Sandi. Kerr on Hase. Headland on Chick. Thornton on Hansen.

Bring it on

Be realistic. The eagles are clearly a mile ahead of the rest of the competition at the moment. A couple of poor games would be nothing but a reality check for them. They're all class and a HUGE challenge for us.

Although we've been winning, we've not hit top gear yet, we'll need too to beat them at Subi in front of a crowd full of eagles supporters.

Re: Edgy Eagle Supporters

Fremantle supporters are in a difficult position this week. Do we do the unthinkable, and support wet toast against the bulldogs, which would end the bulldogs finals aspirations and make it likely that we could qualify with 11 wins? Or do we stick to the status quo of cheering on whoever plays the canaries every week?

If our midfield can break even, then we'll see how good the Slime's defense really is. yes Hunter on pavlich and Glass on Gero bring it on!!

Gardner is a wildcard here, the eagles have won most of the season without him! Finding enough talls to man up on them will be difficult.

It's at the G.

Cant find a long range forcast.

Hope its dry and sunny and no one has to run too hard. We cant have the no1 team getting tired playing in boggy wet conditions

All through last year I was saying that 2006 would be our year and while we've exceeded all expectations this year I still think we're another year away from a flag.

That's not to say that I don't think we can win this year it's just that I think we need more time to cement a winning team and bring our KPPs and forward structure up to the speed required of a premiership team. If we win this year it's a huge bonus and a great achievement by the team and the coaching staff. That said if we don't get there I won't be gutted as we're building a dynasty with this team.

I expect the Dockers to be feral in the derby - they usually are, but then both teams lift for these games so it should be a good fight. Dockers are making a good late charge to the finals but it's an expensive way to play footy and can tell on you when it counts - we know because we did it last year.

Don't you need Roger Hayden for that?
The way Phil kicked on the weekend its probably more like a case of suicide. ;)

In all seriousness though, I reckon Hayden is only one more WAFL game away from playing for Freo again. Would love to see him take Matera, thus freeing Parker up for a taller Weagles forward.

I have great faith in Fido's ability to extract 4-6 goals out of his fundament.

It's still the ruck and the midfield you've got to counter - no surprise there. CC might be tempted to throw Pav into the middle if you're getting beaten, which I think would leave you exposed in the forward line. We can take care of Medhurst, Farmer and McPharlin may present some difficulties but the golden rule is to cut off supply and watch 'em starve to death.

Gardiner will play, as will (I hope) Hansen who is likely to bring Polak further up the ground. The combination of Gardy, Lynch and Fido together, with perhaps Cuz off the HFF could present problems for your boys.

Over the past 3 or so games Pav has on occasion gone into the centre for the bounce, then headed straight back to the forward line. He seems to predominatly be doing this when the opposition start to get on a bit of a roll, in an attempt to gain a clearance for us or at least lock it up. I don't see the point really, if Hasleby, J. Carr, Bell and Cook can't get the clearance, then I don't think Pav will unless he busts the pack (which he rarely attempts to do).

4-6 goals? Come come now, lets be reasonable. :)

the derby will be huge. Although I do rate you guys and think you will be fired up, I think our midfield is a class above and can expose yours. I also think our boys will be quietly confident after our 2 derby wins already this year. Pav is the key, IF (big if) he is held then we will win, I hold no doubts on that.

As I see it The WCE supportters still have there head in the clouds , Their players are sore & on the verge of breaking . I see the WCE confidence copping a hiding . Matt Carr will take out Cousins , Josh Carr will smash Mudd at the stoppages , Jimmy Walker will outrun Kerr on the nite , Justin Longmuir will zone off in front of Gardiner and run off him , Hardens Back so I guess Matera will see alot of the bench , So who do the WCE put on Pavlich , McPharlin & Sandilands whilst they are roaming the F50 ??? I doubt Gardiner & Cox will drop back , Woofter doesnt like sacrificng run out of the back line
