you don't really put up a compelling argument with that list.
One premiership player (Francis) one Brownlow Medallist (Libba) who's main value was tagging. Apart from Neade, the rest are journeymen.

However, I agree he is worth a punt in the rookie draft. With the tackling rule interpretation, if he could be taught to shrug of tackles like the Selwoods/Shuey, we have a player who will pick up a lot of free kicks in the fwd line.

I see Edwards as more of a one-dimensional role player who will do well as a small forward for a few years but soon, opposition sides will work him out quickly and he'll disappear after 4 to 5 years. Again, he's worth a later rookie pick.

My only other concern is that with interchanges being capped, there is a premium on versatile players who can play multiple positions (eg Dwyer, Martin, Beams, Sidey). Edwards I only see being value as a small crumbing forward - he certainly can't play down back
2 champions and one good AFL player out of 6? that's much better output than looking at all AFL players.

Reminds me of this bloke who played with Bannockburn, back in 92, he was smashing us for a good half of footy, and our CHB waited out the other side of the pack, he swooped in, picked up the ball, and went to escape the pack, and Harvey was standing there with his elbow cocked, and hit him flush on the forehead. He didn't move until he was stretchered off the ground. Our Full Forward went up and crossed his arms across his chest as if he was dead. Poor little bloke.

Imagine how many pieces Edwards will break into with a good hip and shoulder down the middle from Campbell Brown.

It wouldn't be all doom and gloom. Players like J.Neade and B.Hill have had decent years and they're as small as a flea as well. It obviously comes down to skill and whether the club thinks he has improvement in him.

Neade averaged 9.2 disposals and 0.7 goals this year, he will struggle to make it in the AFL and Neade is still a few cm's taller than Edwards sadly and more talented

He was part of the scholarship program and we decided not to take him in the end. ..not sure how he is going now though.

Plays for Tongala in the Murray League against Brad Dick (Rumbalara). Elijah was runner up in Tongala's BnF last year. Is still only 19.
