I flew over for the game as well and agree with all of your comments regarding the sub standard performance.
Did any of you go onto the ground after the game? They allowed people onto the MCG for a kick after the game so I took the opportunity to walk onto the hollowed turf. The first thing that struck me was the stench of the mud, it smelt like peat bog. I nearly slipped over walking across the ground and little kids were falling over all over the place. I was surprised that they let people onto the ground when it was in that state. This is not an excuse just an observation and would explain why some players had trouble keeping their feet (Davey & Jurrah excluded
).
I saw some of the players at the airport and can tell you that Pav was filthy on it. He looked like he has had enough. One thing that did impress me was some of the assistant coaches had the laptops out doing video analysis on the flight home, imagine having to pore over that performance again and try and work out what went wrong. Where do you start!
Walking around Melbourne with your Docker gear on is an interesting experience isn't it? Most people give you a look of pity they give the homeless and can't believe that someone actually supports our team.
Well done to our Melbourne supporters who go to our away games and have to put up with it.
Anyway, bring on next year with some of our crap players gone, some of our decent players back from injury and some more gems from the draft!

At least in Melbourne you can go to other games I guess. I went to Adelaide v Hawthorn on Friday night and enjoyed that game a lot more than the Freo one.
