I don't know how we made the two last grand finals, including a flag, but we are duds. No footy brain coach plays a defensive game plan all night players exposed for lack of speed. Not good enough.

To be in reach by 4 points and then completely give the pies the game is baffling. No pressure players standing around. This has been the same all season.

This is depressing. And the umpires didn't help tonight.
 
there is still one term 2 go anything can happen (just me praying and hoping)

we've got 2 think of something drastic to lock down Rusling, Rocca and Cloke
and take the run of the pies!

Its sad 2 see us giving up...i wish i didnt have 2 say that

Make Rocca earn his keep. Don't let him run. We have been behind in every single marking contest when the pies have gone forward. We are slow. Even our kick ins.

The pies are putting pressure yes but why are we so behind.

Terrible. I don't want to win cause i don't want to go though this next week again.

* Some of our best players are making really stupid mistakes.

* Basically the only players earning their keep are Goodes, Kirk and Micky O.

Paul bevan is a disgrace. Hand in your 2005 premiership medal, you are easily the most pathetic player to have the honor to win a flag.

How would you feel if you were a gun player bu never won a flag and you see this hack running around!?

as upset as we are we just cant bash our players we just need 2 end our season take a rest and get back into it next year

Why should the players be spared. This was rubbish served up tonight. We are flat track bullies.

And Paul Roos give yourself an uppercut while you are at it!

The thing that frustrated me was our inability to pick the ball up below our knees, getting run down all the time was pretty hard to watch.
I thought Mal was great tonight
 
Mal gets run down to easily, like McVeigh. needs to somehow add more bulk and strength. McVeigh is a flipping disgrace. Should be traded.

The frustrating thing is you know that the core group of these players will be back in 08. I can't see much trade value in most of the core group, especially after the poor showing on such a big stage.

I wont bash our players.

but I will critisise where I think they deserve it, And Paul Bevan is at the top of that list tonight. His decision making tonight was terrable and most of the plays he was invovled was terrable. My count is 2 goals came from Bevan decion making errors.

Pi** off bandwagoner, if that's the attitude you have. How did we make the last 2 GF's? because we've been a brilliant team for the last 3 years, and all good things have to slowly come to an end at some point, it doesn't all of a sudden make us duds. A lot of small minded idiots will bag us now, stick the boot in because they weren't good enough to stop us when we were at our peak. Maybe you should go and join them? but i'm sticking with Sydney, they've given us all so much!
 
okat the great run we have had in the last 4 years has come to an end.. so what? we got a premiership!! now to rebuild, we still have alot of good players to make another crack at a premiership within the next 5 years. its time to face facts, we are out this year, not looking to threaten next year. lets just just support the team for who they are and not what success they can bring us..

There is nothing wrong with asking for succuss, asking for anything less is selling yourself short, dont worry I wont be jump[ing off no matter what happnes but if your not happy you can let them know without tearing up your membership card.

I'm not giving up on next year for a top 4 spot if we have an injury clean run.
 
i wonder how many of the people on this forum will follow your commitment after this season. just like brisbane, its time to get some depth into our team. this season showed we have very little depth.some sydney supporters who might catch the occasional reserves game and think they are good dont realise they are playing in a sub standard league and wont cut it at afl level. ive been a swans supporter my whole life and was very positive about this season until tonoght but i realise we may need to push premiership hopes aside and focus on the future.

I disagree about your reserves comment.

There is no end of discussion here about just how crap the competition we are playing in is and is a major obsticle in the development of our young and needs to be fixed and fast.

I dont disagree we have a depth problem either but the succuss that we have had has been built on a team and fight attitutude. No one can ever say this club has tanked or given it their all and I am proud of us for that. If we fall off the eight so be it but we should always be aiming to go as far as we can go as I think serious tank teams develop a culture that trap them e.g Carlton and Richmond devolop players with talent but dont seem to be able to break the mediocratry role.

Anyway, lets do the review and see who needs to be moved on for what we can get in the draft and/or trade.

I seriously doubt that, it's time we had a look at the best youngsters now, or we'll find ourselves struggling for years to come, with no hope for the future. Maybe they'll suprise us and come out next year, more like the 2005 side, but i wont hold my breath!

They have given you a great run over the past 3 or 4 years....and a flag after how many years in the wilderness????

Get behind your club instead of bagging them. :thumbsu:
 
im extremely proud, but the purpose of football is to try and win premierships. unless we get some depth we arent going to threaten in the near future or long term. this is not disloyalty its common sense. i want to see more of players such as barlow/schmidt and less of crouch/mathews.
some commentators said a team has to improve 10% each year just to stay at the top, well we didnt. whilst still being proud of the things they have achived, lets look at where they can improve.

I will support this club through anything and everything but just because they gave us a premiership 2 years ago doesn't mean we can't criticise both their season and their effort last night.

I sat at the MCG last night and i felt embarrassed, not so much for me but for THEM.
