Apart from Maxwell getting shafted a few times, we've done alright in recent years with national selections.

It's not the pitch that's the problem (SA's lack of players was happening long before drop-ins), it's a cultural thing. Maxwell was right about his comment on batting behind Wade, and you wouldn't see NSW still giving red ball games to a player like Finch.

Still, if you blame the pitch, Junction Oval and it's permanent track should at least help remedy that. :rainbow:
I take the Finch comment referring to someone that will at no point in the future play test cricket? On form he’s one of the first picked.
That said NSW are still playing Cowan despite him having the same fate.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying.

Cowan doesn't get picked until the Aussie cricketers are gone either. After that he provides much needed experience and some top order stability, Finch bats in the middle order where you'd normally blood your inexperienced players.

I don’t think our young players are much good.
Pucovski and Vines maybe. But how do you believe middle order players are good enough when they can’t displace Christian or White.

That’s enough to doubt our talent pool imo

There's two other names that could be turfed. Still need to give the others a chance though to see what they may be able to do.

Boycott:
"English pitches are better than Australian pitches".

No, the English ones are just as shit and often slower than Australian pitches.

They need to account for bad light or rain ruining a few days worth of play though.

There's more in English pitches for the bowlers, apart from The Oval which is usually an Australian style road.

Smith averaged 56.4 in his last Test series in England, back in 2015. He can bat there.

Career average of 49.9 in England, according to howSTAT.
Career average of 60 in India.
67 in South Africa
41 in Sri Lanka
He has 2 centuries at the Oval which is always a road and a double century at Lord's which was a road last time.

He hardly score a run (like the rest of the team) when the ball moved last time in England

An even more appropriate setting to do so :thumbsu:
I have more chance of getting into the MCC than in that room.

In another note Im suffering starburns's problem of being vertically challenged behind the glass at the Bar

Correct. Average of 43 padded by runs on the friendly surfaces.

Was probably worse in the swinging conditions than Warner.

Hi flogs.

The International Cricket Council has joined the chorus of condemnation levelled at the MCG pitch produced for the fourth Ashes Test, with match referee Ranjan Madugalle rating it poor.

The ICC has officially put Cricket Australia (CA) on notice about the docile drop-in deck, which hardly broke up at all as Australia and England battled to a dull draw.

LOL ...The first for an Australian Ground and another nail in the Test Cricket coffin.

Good hopefully the Mcg will have better pitches instead of crap to maximise revenue.
