Geelong winning the VFL GF has to rank up there with Fitzroy's reserves GF win (against Geelong), in 1989.
Both sides had a number of older stars in their last years, as well as some exciting younger players. Likewise, both clubs had gone for quite a while without major Premiership success of a similar kind (or better).
