Just gotta say boys, I headed dwon from Canberra on Friday morning to attend my first Saints home game in a hell of a long while, and I couldnt of asked for a better victory than the one that I witnessed on Friday night...
I, like a lot of you would.. had my heart in my throat with the 'Dons got back to a few goals mid way thru the 4th, but it was great to see the boys come away with a well deserved win.
A things I noticed/enjoyed about Friday night as a Canberrian ..
* The run and kicking of Aussie Jones from CHB.. You cant appricated on TV until you can see it for yourself.
* The crowds trying to get into Telstra at 7.30 pm .. Jesus, it was like a madhouse outside trying to get in.
* Love the Melbourne weather, lol.. thankgoodness for the roof.
* Reiwoldt.. Pay the man whatever he wants, and for however long he wants.
* Heath Black, see Aussie Jones. Looked uninterested late last season. has really stepped up and provdided us with some great drive all game.
* Brett Voss, courage and determined. Great guts.
* Xavier Clarke is a concern. His form on Friday night was shocking at best. Some of his decisions with ball in hand were ordinary. Was he there just for Raphael's sake?
* Lloyd plays like a girl, and gets free-kicks accordingly. I fail to see how Kevin Sheedy, James Hird or anyone from the Essendon Football Club can ever, ever.. I mean EVER bitch, moan or complain about the Umpiring of any AFL game they are assocoiated with. They get all sorts of darn calls!
* Loved the atmosphere of a sellout game , dont get that up here at Manuka Oval, lol
* Mid Strenght Beer only where I was on Level 3.. WTF ?!?, hehe
Anyway, I had a great night and then hit the Casino until all hours after. Thought I would share a few of my randon thougths and a different perspective.
