Yep agree, purely because i think Gibbs is the better player of the 3. Yarran we could do without, his strengths are wasted on us and at the end of the day he is just a half back flanker/wingmen, where Bryce and Murphy could play midfield, half back, forward etc especially as they get older, where the only thing that will happen with Yaz is that he will lose his pace and that's his main weapon.

He is also out of contract next year and could walk away as a free agent anyway. I would love to keep all 3, but if we have to lose one I reckon it should be Yarran.
Yep

Going to Geelong

If we are going to shell out massive dollars for a mature aged player then it has to be for a Key position forward. Tom Hawkins is only 26 and Jake Carlisle is 23 but my preference would be for Charlie Dixon who is 24.

to get one of those guys would take high or multiple draft picks, would stink of another attempted quick fix. Would be really nice for us to draft and develop from within.

I would have Yarran as the one I am most prepared to lose to get us another pick.

Is it worth it for 1 pick though?
Yaz was (a well used) pick 6. He provides run and skill, our 2 biggest deficiencies and he's still young.

I don't see how trading him for a top 10 pick really adds value to us?

Not necessarily, Hawkins is a restricted FA and the others are out of contract. With the out of contract players we would have leverage when negotiating a trade as we are likely to have one of the first picks in the PSD.. Say we trade Yaz to West Coast for pick 10, we can then use that to trade to Gold Coast for Dixon and still keep our first pick in the ND. Essendon are likely to be knts in negotiations as they would hate to lose Carlisle but if he demands to be traded to Carlton then it is up to Essendon to make the trade work and not over reach or he walks to the PSD.

Like my above post, if we use that pick 10 to secure a 10 year+ key position forward like Dixon or Carlisle it is in my opinion as we certainly need a KPF more than we need a half back flanker.

OK, but your essentially talking about a player for player trade, rather than for a pick.

Club not happy with Yarran off field
Are they happy with the limp dicked efforts by the rest of the team on it.

Yarran's the only players to have done anything remotely aggressive this year. The rest of the team has walked around with their testicles in their purses.

If the club lose another indigenous player what message does that send?

Come on, race has nothing to do with this so don't even start by bringing that crap up.

You're right that he's one of the few that has shown any fire this season, both with and without the ball. All we want to see is all the blokes having a red hot crack at things, that'll go a long way towards us improving out of sight. Ridiculous selections aren't helping us either, as bringing Warnock in last week for example was bemusing at the very least.

...about the club, not the players

Only thing that makes sense is that Nannette has a soft spot for Robbie W and she wanted to see him play on Micks special night..

One indigenous player having shit form and leaving. Ok
Two?. Might need some investigation.
Three? Red flag

Murphy/Gibbs/Yarran are attacking players. When Judd was able to beat teams inside by himself - he made Carlton players look a lot better than they ever where. Nick Stephens finished carer injured early, Mclean came to Club injured and remained injured and then never got back the little leg speed he had and was never the hard inside player we needed. So we had Carrazzo and Judd - and a bunch of outside runners trying to play inside on rotation- Murphy classy enough to get ball - but it takes its toll playing small against bigs...

Bigger bodied midfielders were required years ago - as were taller KPP.

Instead Club focussed on HBF types....

and here we are.

Didn't offer Betts enough money.
Garlett has offield issues even enough form Yarran to distance for on him.

I waved the red flag with Joseph. Talented aboriginal.

Can someone PM me what these alleged off field issues are? I keep hearing about how bad they are but have no idea what anyone is talking about.
