Not really, he's pointing out how Salah playing the victim card so soon after what happened is actually in pretty poor taste and he doesn't really deserve sympathy for it rn. Of all people he should really understand the context of being dropped for 3 games not being worthy of what he did

Salah has even been dropped for poor form. Just like any other footballer in the world would be.

His comments have all but guaranteed his exit from the club when had he not said anything, he might have been in the starting XI the very next game.

I think it’s hugely unfair and disrespectful to bring up someone’s grief as a stick to beat them with when they have perhaps gone about something the wrong way.

It’s fine to criticise his comments if people see fit but to infer his grief wasn’t genuine due to his current actions is not right, and in fact I’d argue that they are actually linked.

Exactly, old mate above thinking its some conspiracy to get him out of the club is so bizarre. He's scored 7 in his last 30 games I heard and he flat out refuses to defend, if he was anyone else he would have been dropped earlier yet because of his status to the club they kept him in the team.

For him to throw his toys out of the cot immediately, yeah just a really poor decision

Pretty certain that's not what he was inferring

Everyone has the same fixture

Haha, I get that.

It’s just a surprise to see two PL sides playing against each other twice in the space of 3 weeks. I am sure it does happen a few times over the course of the season, but just a bit of a surprise.

He said Salah’s comments about his mate being killed are now empty because he’s complaining about being on the bench.

I’m just not having that, what a ridiculous thing to bring up.
Did he? Quote that part for me

Cause to me it seemed more like was saying for Salah to have lived through that only to then act like the world's greatest atrocity just happened to him only months later is a bit shit

Kind of a bonus for the neutrals too with the form the two sides are in.

No I mean, the week Villa have Arsenal a second time, everyone who just played each other will also all be playing again.

I know it's happened other seasons but is there any reason they do that? I find it extraordinary when they do it in NFL (play tice in 3 weeks) but over a 38 round that goes nearly 10 months I find really puzzling.

I'm actually not sure, same thing is happening in the Championship - we play Boro and Stoke twice in the space of 4-5 weeks for instance. Dunno why you couldn't spread it out a bit more.

Sure it wasn't just a fixture reschedule due to to CL or something else?

No it’s happened other seasons and as SM said even in the Champ. I mean teams should be playing 3-5 months apart like it does rest of the fixture.

'Back in the day', a long time before the EPL, the same teams played on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, home and away, which is bizarre.

I checked the top 4 English leagues. For each club, for games at the start of December, the reverse fixture is at the end of December. I wonder if that was by design or a glitch in the fixture computer.

Salahs on over 400k a week and started every game to start the season and has only recently lost his place with the team in their worst form in half a century. People were calling for this a month ago and slot stuck by him.
This narrative is a load of bs
Worst form in half a century?

I’d say design but beats me why

Seems to have happened during the 1950s, sometimes Christmas / Boxing days, sometimes Christmas and 27/12, probably if either Day was on a Sunday. Looks as though it finished by the 1960s. The attached are Division 1 results from 1956-1957, as example Chelsea hosted Arsenal on Christmas Day and the fixture reversed for Boxing Day.

They don't have the depth IMO.
Yeah i think they can, they will have to prioritise the league though with their skinnier squad.

Yeah this.

They need a bit more depth, but if they de-prioritise Europa League, and avoid significant injuries (Arsenal style defensive injury luck would sink AV for sure), they could do it I think.

Watkins has been playing sore, they need to be able give him a rest wherever possible.

So did Liverpool only extend his contract so they could get a transfer fee?

If that's the case and they planned on phasing him out this season anyway without his knowledge you can understand his frustration.
It was protective for sure, but if his form held up in any way at all and the rest of the squad was in good shape, they'd likely keep him. A disastrous season by Mo and the club was always going to create a pressure point where the insurance policy element of it could be used.
