Hammers probably had the four most talented players on the field in Paquta, Bowen, Diouf and Fernandes but as a team they are poor. They can neither defend set pieces or score from them. Teams easily play through their press.

There's no legs or energy in midfield which is the major problem. That and we are dying out for someone up front who can run the channels and hold the ball up effectively, prime Micky Antonio basically.

Aronson going one end of the pitch to the other, strolling past 3 attempted tackles from Soucek, Irving and Paqueta summed it up. Fernandes and Magassa at least have that, they're raw, but they put themselves about. Potts has potential as a deep lying playmaker, but I don't think he's ever going to be a fit under Nuno.

If I ever see us play a back 5 again with inverted full backs, well the fans might riot I suspect.
