I have a question for all you sexy managers out there.

In the EPL season, there aren't any set rounds like their are in the AFL season. Because of the Champions League and other things, quite often teams will play 2 or 3 games in quick succession, or won't play an EPL match for quite some time.

Any suggestions how we can work around this when it comes time for the competion during the season?

There are a set amount of games. 38 games are played by each team. They are often changed around due to CL etc. But each club still plays 38.

Say I play BW this week, and DB next week. Arsenal don't play this week, therefore I maybe missing quiet a few players this week and will most likely loose. But then when they make it up I will have extra and most likely win. That is one answer.

Another, say I'm playing BW this week. Arsenal don't play this week therefore I'm short on players. They play the following week. So you do all the results bar our game and untill the following week when Arsenal catch up and have a GB (Game behind) like they do in Rugby. It would be all even come the end of the season. Only thing is clubs some times don't play for quiet some weeks when re-scheduling there matches.

I think the second option is a top idea for this league.

As Juzzy said it is a pretty good format for sports like the Rugby and Basketball.

IMO, it will even up the league instead of having heaps of lopsided matches.

With that being said, it would not be a disaster having the first option used either.

I also agree option 2 looks pretty good.

However, a potential problem could be that because each team is made up of players from a lot of different teams, there could be a lot of delays on when final scores for 1 round would be released.

Saying that though, it looks like being the only viable option.

Not quite, but Izzet still goes alright.

He's no Steven Gerrard, Barry Ferguson, Thomas Hitzlesperger or Kevin Nolan though.;)

Averages:

Izzet - 9.10 - $18.52
Gerrad - 8.90 - $18.03

It is counted on average, Izzet played a few less games then Gerrard but the games he did play he was better. Is the most expensive midfielder too. Hence him being the highest ranked. :D;)

After a good look at the proposed scoring system, I must say it is still well and truly up in the air which system will be used.

The reasoning being that we have traded/signed players not based on any scoring system, but on real life value. The yahoo system posted above doesn't seem to represent that very well at all, in particularly with the way defenders score.

For example, based on last season, Tarnat and Le Saux are the top rated defenders, while players like A.Cole, Gallas, Cunningham, Carragher, Mellberg, Bridge, Toure, Campbell are extremely poorly rated.

Meanwhile, the premierleague.com system, based on last seasons form, seems to represent the actual value of a player compared to the way they score pretty much flawlessly.

Personnally I think I would prefer to use this premierleague system for that exact reason.

What does everybody else think?

Premierleague system needs to be used or else Southampton will win the title.;)

In all seriousness, it needs to be as realistic as possible therefore the premierleague system is the only viable option.

Ok cool looks like we have that sorted.

Now, when the original lists were posted, some lists weren't 100% full. Stupid soccer sites. Anyways, to make it fair for the teams who didn't get the opportunity to retain these players originally, the team that they play for can sign them now for free. Once a period of 5 days elapses, the players are then eligible for anyone to pick up for free.

Hope that makes sense, if not, too bad.

Heres the premierleague.com scoring system. It doesn't look like a great scoring system compared to the yahoo one, but most importantly it best represents the actual value of a player.
