You’ve got nothing

Ok, here's some reasons that it's scaled to be less than the men's criteria:
  1. They are are at the beginning of their history
  2. There are far less players playing far less games
  3. They are still semi-professional
  4. It acknowledges the women who are forging the competition
  5. It doesn't impact the men at all
  6. It doesn't really matter
  7. It annoys people who mistake equality for equity

AFLW season 1 was in 2017. That is more than 5 years ago. The world has gone mad. I don’t consider your points 1 through 7 relevant.

Of course you don't because you're heavily invested in being outraged about it.

Point 6 is your friend.

I’m not outraged I just know we are going through a period of over correction and I will call it out.

That's why it was correct that Debbie Lee was the first women inducted.

The games she played in the 1980's and 90's and stuff she has done in coaching and admin is like the blokes who played in the state leagues in the 1880's and 1890's, then did 25 years of coaching and admin, and are in the HoF, when it was basically an amateur game.

I agree its seems too early to induct women from AFLW. I get the 5 year wait period might be less than men because of the shortened careers, but the next women inducted should have played at least 10 years in the AFLW comp. The 2 inducted the other night are on another level.

Erin and Daisy started their career in the 30's so a 6 or 7 year career is acceptable for these pioneers who didn't get the chance to play at a pro level before this and in Erin's case was told she couldn't play anymore. Daisy did play for over a decade in the VWFL for Darebin and was the star player in that league winning 8 premierships and 6 league B&F medals and then 2 further flags in VFLW and a league medal co-named in her honour in a new league that had some metro clubs from VWFL + the Vic based AFL clubs put teams into the VFLW.

Thank god you were here to fight for equality on behalf of us poor downtrodden blokes, I've been fretting about this for days.
