I can't help but notice the bitterness towards Scotland in this thread. Can you guys actually back up all your assumptions about Scotland with some facts?

You guys go on about ho he gets cheap possessions. However, what you don't realise is that he is very efficient with his ball use, and is one of the better skilled players at Carton. Out of his disposals this year (84), 80% have hit another Carlton target.

I don't know why you guys are calling him a cheat, and I don't see how he can be. Unaccountable? Sometimes. However, in the last quarter he was backing into the packs featuring Lloyd, and took some good grabs in that quarter to stop Essendon's forward momentum.

All you Bombers fans shouldn't be fooled by your bitterness. Scotland is one of the best rebounding and efficient players in the AFL.

Well, in actual fact, only one of our posters labelled him a cheat...

Never said Scotland wasn't effective. Simply said he is unaccountable. He refuses to play on an opponent. If he had have been on someone like Hird, Akermanis or O'keefe, they would have made him pay and his game would have looked horrible. It is totally our fault we didn't make him accountable.

You asked for facts, 20 of his 26 possesions were uncontested, that's about 80%. Convinced?

It's not bitterness, it's an accurate reflection of the way he plays.

It's not assumptions, I've watched him play. The proof is in the pudding.

Yeah, and that's great. I never once said he didn't use the ball well. What I said, if you cared to read my post carefully instead of jumping off half co(ked because someone dared to label one of your players, is that he's unaccountable and cheats.

Plenty of players do. Andrew Lovett cheated on Saturday when he kicked that goal from the Lucas pass. Lovett was all alone in the goal square. He cheated, he showed no respect for his opponent and prayed on the ball turning over.

That's what Scotland does, that's how he plays.

He is unaccountable and against if you read what I said, it was in reply to someone questioning why we didn't tag Scotland. We didn't tag him because of that very fact, because he be hurt going the other way.

Davey wasn't good enough to do it, but had he not had a case of the fumbles he could have hurt Scotland massively.

He never once backed back whilst Lloyd was leading, simply because Lloyd only lead once in the last quarter and he marked the ball.

It's not bitterness at all, he plays his role well. But that takes nothing away from the fact that he can be hurt going the other way. And he isn't one of the best rebounding footballers in the league, he's an adequate one. There are plenty, plenty, better.

Don't be fooled by bias.

For the record, Lloydy picked up an easy goal in the goal square after O'Halpin went to another contest. Don't call him a cheat though, its very s******y. Call it taking a chance or backing your own judgement. :thumbsu:

There's a massive difference, Lloyd kicked a goal from the very same contest.

We had players forward of the ball, when Lloyd's opponent left him to spoil the ball was only ever going to go to our front and square crumbers.

There is a massive difference between reading the play, which Lloyd did, knowing that we had two crumbers to no Carlton opponents, and praying that the opposition turn the ball over.

That's what Lovett did and that's what Scotland does, a lot.

Well I saw it as being, Lloyd didn't contest, and took the chance that O'Halpin wouldn't mark. And Carlton had players dead ahead too. Lloyd backed a lucky break, and won.

O'Halpin was four deep, he was never going to mark the ball and we already had Lucas competing.

One up, one down?

Carlton had no one at the fall of the ball.
