Collingwood's sharing of their goals record got me thinking, and we don't do too badly in this area ourselves.

We're averaging 8.25 goal-kickers per game, I know it's early in the year but it stacks up quite well to the better teams of the decade, this avg will go up and down during the year I suspect but we don't rely on the two L's anymore and still kick good scores.

We also been in front more this year than Freo, Port, Brisbane and Melbourne, 1% below North.

Won the same amount of quarters as the four teams directly above us, 1 less than the Saints.

Some interesting stats considering we're a relatively young team having played 75% of our games against current top 8 teams.

If we can keep our intensity up rounds 13-19 looks like a huge period of opportunity for us.

13 - Hawks - our bitches, too good for them
14 - @ Crows - more than winnable
15 - Dees - more than winnable
16 - WCE - more than winnable
17 - Roos - winnable
18 - Saints- our bitches ;) match up well, overrated
19 - Blues - our bitches

We'd be almost due against the Dogs at some stage as we always falter in the 2nd half of games, Collingwood anything can happen while we play well at the SCG.

I did a ladder predictor earlier today.

We have to only lose 3 more for the season to make finals, by my reckoning, unless we get a much better %.

I still think we'll miss.

We have to play Geelong, Bulldogs twice (and we're their bitches), Collingwood, Carlton, St. Kilda and Adelaide at AAMI (we lose on the road and Adelaide might have sorted themselves then).

To win four of those and not drop a match against anyone else could be tough.

I actually think we'll give the bulldogs a shake this year, we play well against sides with obvious key targets. Their spread has confused us in the past.
Surely Mitch Hahn can't pull out another career best game against us.

Also no Brad Johnson next Friday would help as that **** always destroys us. Aker in average form also. Think we have a good chance to hold their main goalkickers with Pears on Hall and Fletcher on Grant.

Yeah we're due for a win against the Dogs.

Were winning in 2008 before McVeigh, Lonergan and perhaps somebody else went off in the space of 5 minutes in the last quarter.

We were winning last year before a few horrendous umpiring decisions gifted them two or three cheap goals in the space of half a quarter, giving them all momentum.

As said, Hahn won't have another 6-goaler against us, especially if Fletcher's on him.

Pears will make Hall earn every kick, and our blue collared midfield will match up OK against theirs.

Mark that one down as a win.

I'd switch it up, Fletcher on Hall and Pears on Grant. As Grant has been playing pretty far up the ground and would prefer Fletch deep cutting off long balls.

We had the Dogs beat last year in the first half easily before the worst quarter of umpiring I've ever seen gifted them several goals and momentum in the third. It's not called the premiership quarter for nothing and I maintain that cost us the game.

Better not happen again this year.

Pretty sure they had 5 goals directly from free kicks last year and about 5-6 others indirectly.

Demon.. Demonst... Demonstra..tive Behaviour!

You don't even know what that means!
Haha. The only thing that made it bearable was hearing Fletch's response after getting home.

Bloody oath.

I sat there with a Dogs supporter, biting my tongue the entire time we were winning. Then as they started to run away with the game due to some appalling umpiring, he started to get worked up because of a few iffy umpiring calls. I just said "don't even bring the ****ing umpiring up", so he didn't again. But the worst part was once they'd won he spoke as though it was always a forgone conclusion; the sense of entitlement really shitted me, as we were a better side for most of the night. Had the umpires not intervened, we had them on toast.

It seems to happen against a few sides (Bulldogs, Saints, Geelong), and if it does again, I won't be happy.

If it doesn't, we'll win. Quote me.

Have to agree - It was the worst umpiring that EFC experienced in 2009.

The 5 goals from free kicks - only one was a definite free kick.

And Fletcher got a 50 metre penalty for his attitide - What a joke -

There has been only one worst 50 metre penalty that I can remember - M.Johnston receiving a penalty for calling his opponent a weak dog.
